i'm eyeing for a Nokia C7 over Nokia N8 due to budget constraints....
however..... C7's 8mp cam lacks the power and mechanism for Auto-focus...
my question is, what will be the difference between a fixed focus lens and an auto focus lens.. and since i am now focused on the C7, may you enlighten me with the PROS and CONS of a fixed focus lens...
will landscape and macro mode be compromised?
TIA

Fixed-focus lenses are usually set on a very small aperture in order to have a large depth of field. This means that the entire image will come out very sharp.
Auto-focus tends to have a much shallow DOF to produce wonderful blur (out of focus) on your shots but a little softer on your subject depending on your lens.
A fixed-focus with small aperture would be great in landscapes while auto-focus with large aperture will be wonderful in macro mode. I am not sure how aperture works in cellphones but this is what I have in mind.
Take the one with auto-focus bro. The difference in terms of sharpness will be tolerable if you want better results both in your landscape and macro photos.

sir eljun, thanks for the input....
as of today, i had already purchased the c7 (w/c is actually sold by my officemate 2nd hand 2 months old to me... @ a very bargain price and is still in a mint condition) --- talk about impulse buying...
though i am not that satisfied by the phone camera's capability, all i need in a mobile phone is already there such as HD video, avi movies, A-GPS, USB on-the-go, etc. etc.
i'll just take advantage of the other features and practice using the fixed lens feature, and BTW i still own a P&S cam and a DSLR cam, so .....
maybe the phone's still camera will not be an issue for me now.
