Hi! How do you light a model carrying an umbrella which is full body? Any suggestions? Is hair light important? Hope you could drop me some ideas. Thank you very much.

Use a fill light with a similar angle to the camera, its ok for the face to be a bit dark, for its natural for people under an umbrella to be darker, if they are way brighter under an umbrella then it won't look natural.

You can shoot your subject with an umbrella a number of ways, depending on the scene, available light, how you pose the subject, your intended output. Give us a little more detail so we can guide you to the particulars. I love ALL your umbrella-themed images. They're clean, simple, yet very striking & extremely creative.
And although the same prop is used in all five, each image is unique and lit differently. I am learning a lot just by looking. Thanks so much for posting them.

Thank you sirs for your inputs. But do you think it is possible to lit a model with an umbrella but is simulating the sunlight at the outdoors? Or the best way to get sunlight effect is simply just to shoot outdoors? Thank you again. Sir Nick and Sir Kengo, nice photos, very creative.
