View Full Version : 24-105 4L ISU price question.
marcelo chan 02-13-2007, 10:13 PM Good day to you all,
Tanong lang sana to those who experince ordering lens online,
About the price of the 24-105 4L ISU, that lens is now $1,026- at B&H photo in NY, plus the added cost of $50 for shipping, Magkano na kaya ang mababayaran ko pagdating dito? including tax.
Mas makakamura ba ako kng o order ako dun?
Sa experience nyo po, ilang percent ba ang tax para sa lens na yun?
Thank you.
Florencio de la Merced, J 02-14-2007, 08:05 AM I recently bought stuff online... my CC charged P50.09 to 1$, so your price would probably hit P53-54k. Locally, the Canon PH warrantied version is around P67k I think. Something that large in value though (declared) would get a hefty tariff though at customs. (Hence why I only ordered online since I'm headed there soon anyway, so I can avoid the local tariff here)
mark empeynado 02-14-2007, 09:25 AM 24-105 f4 IS - P57,000 with Local warranty
Florencio de la Merced, J 02-14-2007, 09:39 AM Re-checked the Official Canon offer last Photoworld (which I think is still valid up to end of month)...and it's officially priced at 62.5k pala
allanligon 02-15-2007, 03:48 PM bought mine at 24k for 57T
joelglocsin 02-23-2007, 12:59 AM Just a note, Canon Philippines honors warranty of lenses bought abroad. Just show them the receipt and warranty card.
marcelo chan 03-02-2007, 08:43 PM Thanks for your replies,
I bought mine at Henry's for 55k international or store warranty,
Since I'm in cagayan de oro city, I have it shipped to me after making bank deposit.
I ordered yesterday afternoon mar.1 2007 and recieved it this noon mar. 2 2007. Very fast delivery by Henry's and the lens is very nice and meet my expectation.
My first "L" lens :D
Sorry, I cant help raving. :)
daniel go 03-13-2007, 01:41 PM Got mine last week for 50K at Watson's - store warranty :)
David Tong 03-13-2007, 01:52 PM Daniel: Didn't know you bought a DSLR na hehe...

David, I got myself a 30D, was choosing between it and the 400D. Wanted the 400D for the dust cleaning thing but the 30dD's size and handling won me over :)
marcelo chan 03-13-2007, 10:44 PM Hi daniel,
Congrats on your new lens and camera, Oo nga , may dslr ka na pala, Before , you were searching for a sony R1, Even though the R1 is realy good, I think you made the right decision in buying the Canon lens and body.
Hi David,
The 24-105 is a really nice lens and worth saving for , even on a cropped body. Some would say that 24mm is not wide enough for a cropped body, But 55mm in the 17-55 is too short for me, that is why I chose this lens. I f ever I need to go wider , I still have the 18-55 kitlens pa naman eh :)
I'm also saving up for the 10-22, I've read the 10-22 and the 24-105 is a killer combo for urban travelling :)
daniel go 03-14-2007, 11:35 AM Marcelo, a 10-22, then a 24-105 and a 70-200 then you're set na hehehehe of course ubos pera :(
marcelo chan 03-14-2007, 11:52 AM HEhehe, Tama ka bro,
Kaya kitlens nlang muna for wides.
Sigh... Kung mura lang sana ang mga lens na yun.
Macky Adarna 03-29-2007, 01:57 PM Ouch.. masakit naman to sa bulsa.. wala ba mga 12mos 0% interest ng lens na to?

If I remember it correctly, all Camerahaus stores offers the 0% interest.. Problem is, you will still be charged 62K.. if via cash, it may go down to 60K :) (mahal pa din to compare sa Hidalgo)

Yes, you can actually get one for P50k+ from reliable sources in the forum.
daniel go 03-30-2007, 11:11 AM Got my 24-105L for 55K sa hidalgo
brian_uy 03-31-2007, 02:14 AM in japan website, its about 45k pesos converted. just for you to know how much is the price around japan.
marcelo chan 03-31-2007, 06:57 AM Thanks for the info Brian, but it is unlikely they would sell the lens at that price here anytime soon. It is their own product, and it should be cheaper there, just like mangos and coconuts are cheaper here than in japan heheheh.
To be fair , I think 50 to 55k are good price for that lens, considering B&H NY is selling it for around $1100- plus tax and shipping, it would be above 60k if you order from them. And if you happen to be in NY, you still have to add 8.3% tax to that price.
I think the price in Hong Kong is cheaper than in the Philippines though.
brian_uy 04-01-2007, 12:52 AM try in hk, definitely cheaper than here
