I tried out the in-camera stuff the K10D has during the 11th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Here are the results:

Composition 1
- In-camera Multiple exposure - 2 RAW DNG exposures with Auto adjust EV on
- In-camera RAW to JPEG
- In-camera JPEG Digital Filters - Black & White with Red setting
- Photoshop Autolevels
- Resize

Composition 2
- In-camera Multiple exposure - 3 RAW DNG exposures with Auto adjust EV on
- In-camera RAW to JPEG
- In-camera JPEG Digital Filters - Black & White with BW Setting
- Photoshop Autolevels
- Crop & Resize

*There is some noise present because I accidentally turned the front e-dial and changed to ISO 800 on the Moon exposure :(

Composition 3
- In-camera Multiple exposure - 5 JPEG exposures
- In-camera JPEG Digital Filters - Black & White with BW Setting
- Photoshop Autolevels
- Crop & Resize

* I guess 5 JPEG exposures = 5x JPEG Compressions. :S

woah! really cool effects :)
I wonder how would the look in color?

Bluish, because of the deep blue sky scene. :S

Unfortunately, Auto EV Adjust just does that, only adjust exposure and not color. The more frames the higher the colorcast of the dominant color.

I'll have to experiment on it more with a few different scenes. Yeah I know, Photoshop can easily do this but it might be handy when off-camera PP isn't an option. :)

Yup sure did!

Eventhough it was cold in the morning and hot as hell in the afternoon, it was all worth it. Too bad I ran out of batteries just before the night glow. :( In-camera processing sure does eat a lot of power.

Oh well, there's still the next year. :D

I haven't tried it yet, I still have to find a proper subject. I think I need bright light and 3fps for that. :)

Thanks Chelo, Kenneth.

i tried the multiexposure at burst but the camera doesn't want to do it. It takes a shot every second instead - also turned off the Auto EV adjust hoping to enable the burst - but nope! As I remember it works with my *istD before. :-(

I'm not sure but you can try to turn off the LCD preview after shots, I'm still at the office so I can't check.

Thanks Victor!

Thanks!

Kenneth,
The Pentax *istD has this feature - nowadays it is quite cheap used - the new old stock however costs more than a K10D!
