the owner wanted the shots to be richly warm so I clipped yellow gels to the softboxes to blend them in with the ambient light
shot with a 300D and a Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 DS Macro
Dys Santos 02-12-2007, 01:09 AM Seems like the lighting came from a gas lamp. Stark contrast.
Jojo Guingona 02-12-2007, 03:01 PM Suggestion for future shoots. Shoot them straight and warm them up in post. More flexibility for you. You can choose where to put the warmth. Just my 2 cents worth. Provided you shoot in RAW, i presume

haha. i love the term. :D
i would avoid including the butt crack. it takes attention away from the whole photo.
but aside from that, i like the photos.

Nice term. Maybe we start another thread photos of "Coin Slots" :D
David Tong 02-12-2007, 09:52 PM Hehe, if that comment didn't come from a female poster, we'd be in trouble :D
Nice composition BTW... A little to warm on the third photo on my monitor, though... (uncalibrated hehe)

But I think this is an advertising play. The mood and coin slot work hand in hand to draw in the customers of the spa.

yeah. that's true. didn't take that into consideration. :Dum:
sheryll_bituin 02-12-2007, 11:19 PM I like the first and third photo. The composition is good to begin with but the "peeping" butt crack just distracts me. Not that i am a conservative or so, but I think it would have been more effective if it wasn't shown in the picture.

Thanks. I actually considered that. The thing is blending it in with the ambient light. It's still possible but would take more time as you got two or three color temps to balance out. I don't have the luxury of time right now :( The owner actualy wanted this project finished two months ago but the manager just sat on it before the owner finally had me called in. I'm designing the brochure as well so it saves me time of having to color balance every shot.
We even put gel on the windows at times we had sunlight coming in.
OMG You can see her coin slot!!!
:D The model was actually a first timer who handled it like a pro. But everytime she was positioned for the shoot I'd step out of the room while the owner's secretary and the therapists would get her in pace. When I came in that's how I found her.
It's actually less distracting when the towel is cropped out. The owner didn't like the towel in the shots and would've preferred it there wasn't any in the first place. He'd rather it was all smooth skin.
Thanks everyone!

christopher cortez 02-21-2007, 04:57 PM uhm, weird...i never noticed the butt crack till someone mentioned it....
Angelo Bryant 02-27-2007, 07:46 AM me too.. i haven't noticed it the first time I saw the layout.
Red Dungca 02-27-2007, 08:18 AM Nice layout, truly tempting. But for me I would also prefer it without the butt crack:)
tina mallari 02-27-2007, 08:20 AM Wonderful brochure layout Eisen. If I were to get a brochure like that in my mail, I'd surely want to go to that place. You captured everything beautifully :) Thanks for sharing.
Oh, I also think it would be nicer if you didn't show the butt thingie. The shadows make it look ugly pa lalo
