Shoot2Share was launched yesterday, June 13, at the Atrium of the New Eastwood Mall. The exhibit pieces will be there till June 16.

This is a photography exhibit that showcases 40 images with the theme "The Father's Love" and celebrates God's Love through the eyes of all photographers who participated. Please do visit this great exhibit when you find time. :)

As you all know, we'll be having the contest again on August 20. The theme is "wedding moments" so please get your entries prepped up. Aside from the contest, we have a special guest speaker on that date.

Renowned wedding photographer John Mateos Ong will talk about wedding photography and other topics. The lecture/talk can be attended for free so please make an effort to go and don't miss this event. :)

In 1990, at the age of 18, during my 1st year in College in De La Salle University, I started my events management career by founding "Concepts Plus." But the industry wasn't really ready yet for below-the-line events marketing. Three years later, I lost money and was down to my last P30,000 pesos. I decided to shift careers and manage a band called "Orient Pearl". It was during that time that I was able to compose the song "We Can Make It" which was later translated to Tagalog and entitled "Pagsubok". This propelled us to triple platinum status and for years, I enjoyed the rock and roll life and toured around the Philippines.

In 1996, I got invited by school mates once again into forming my 2nd events company "WishCraft, Inc."

In the year 2000, we diversified and put up other companies: Stage Monster (which is now Set check), ProCast (casting), Post Ad (street merchandising) and Pixel Eyes Media. I also took up Masteral in Marketing in DLSU and enrolled in my 2nd course - Production Design. It was then when I re-discovered my passion for taking pictures.

I decided to go full time into photography in 2003 shooting just about everything from advertising, to fashion, to events. Despite the discouragement of my partners, I sold all my shares in my companies to fund for new gear and a studio. A few months later, I found my niche in weddings and decided to concentrate on this field. From doing 17 weddings on my first year, this increased to 79 on the next and 105 on the 3rd. It was then that I decided to form Imagine Nation, a team of professional photographers who commit to carry on the same attitude towards weddings and have the same quality of pictures.

After several months of operation, I discovered God’s purpose for leading me into this career. The company did a 180 degree turn and we started to focus on Jesus as the main CEO and audience of the company. Blessings poured since then. Imagine Nation now averages 400+ weddings yearly and houses over 15 professional photographers.

Recently, I got certified as PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with specializations in Wreck, Deep, Nitrox, digital underwater photography and videography and have become Master Trainer for Lead Like Jesus.

Eastwood Camera Club (EWCC), an organization of professional and photography hobbyists, invites you to anafternoon of exciting photographic experience. On September 24, Saturday. EWCC is conducting a half-day Glamour/Portraiture photo shoot - A practice Studio shoot featuring three professional models.Experience shooting in an actual studio using professional lightingset-up used in standard advertising/ commercial/ portraiture assignments.

The workshop will start immediately after registration (1pm)with a short lecture on basic studio set-up, directing, metering and more. Theworkshop will only accommodate participants who confirmed their registration.After the short lecture, the participants will be broken into two groups for2-half hours of hands-on photo shoot. The sessions will be directed by EWCCprofessional photographers and officers.

Immediately after the workshop, there will be Photographers discussionand interaction with the members of EWCC.

Photos taken during the workshop can be submitted as an entryfor the next EWCC photo contest being held every month at Eastwood.

The Eastwood Camera Club made September 24 a weekend of learning by doing a fun shoot at the ACME Studios in Katipunan. Fourteen shutter-holics showed up eager for some cameraderie and to practice skills.

The 1pm shoot started with a lesson by EWCC President, Mike Tan and Carlo Barrameda about various lighting set-ups, the usage of strobes, and light meters in a studio setting. This was followed by a division of the group into two teams to maximize the equipment and studio time. What was a scheduled funshoot turned into a "timed" friendly shootout between Team A and Team B that lasted until 7pm.

Raven and Doc Marissa, the two MUAS did an excellent job on the club's two professional models. Karina Tamminen and Eric Eleazar matched the powerful strobes with their megawatt smiles to the delight and direction of the EWCC photographers.


Mr. Jasper Aviso and Ms. Camille Basa also provided supportive direction to both photogs and models while Pres. Mike Tan kept the group teams on their toes. The shoot wrapped up at 7 o'clock and was punctuated by a group hug shot. Everyone was tired but had fun on this event.

The photographers' commitment begins now. All shooters are expected to give a copy of their best shots to the two models in the coming days.
