View Full Version : Capture NX Marco_Ingco 02-06-2007, 12:54 AM After reading several good reviews of this software, I gave in. I downloaded the latest trial version last night. My problem is, it's running too slow on my machine. Just increasing the size of the selection seems to drag my machine. I have a Dell P4 2.8GHz Dual Core with a 1.5Gb RAM. I used to have almost the same setup as yours(2GB of RAM and 10k RPM Raptor drive though) and have experienced the same performance issues. The new chip is significantly faster (http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=432&model2=448&chart=186) than the old one and uses less power too. :) I remember the old Nikon Capture used to be the same way. They've only improved the performance in the later releases. I hope the next NX release would address this. HTH. I got my NX yesterday and installed it. My main PC have slowed down 50% when i'm using this software. However, I feel safer if I was holding on to a disc. :Grin: As to the speed of NX. I read on the net that the upgrade is supposed to fix the slow-down problem. Cheers, Alan |
