View Full Version : Call for Photos- Issue 38
Nick Tuason 04-11-2011, 12:58 PM We are putting together our Issue 38 and are calling members of the DPP community to submit to us your best MACRO images.
1. Up to 3 images can only be submitted
2. Post in the Gallery at this LINK (http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph/photography/showgallery.php?cat=602)
3. Deadline is April 25.
4. If we contact you that means you make the first cut. Sometimes we don't use all the images we get because of layout restrictions or poor image quality.
5. You will have to provide a photo of yourself, description, and shot details when we contact you.
Holler if you have any questions.

Nick Tuason 04-12-2011, 02:29 PM Shoot new ones! No problem digging up files but hope you guys remember how the shot was taken because we like to share the information with fellow DPP members.

You can use a watermark to post but if we like your image and have you send it in to us, it should have NO watermark. We place your name beside a copyright when the magazine is printed.
AllenGutierrez 04-18-2011, 02:56 PM can i ask what size of picture before i can join the macro?anyone please?

What size to upload or what size final image?
Upload- just a small file for viewing purposes
Final- at least 6MB so that we can print large if necessary

No coz it will say the picture exceeds the 500kb limit.

I think he was taking about FINAL photos, not the one submitted to the gallery, since Nick said it should be 6MB.
I was wondering the same thing. I want to crop this certain image but the size becomes less than 6MB when saved as jpg.
Marvin Bonifacio 04-24-2011, 08:49 PM Uploaded my first photo here! Hope it gets the cut, wohohoho! :)

romzLopez 05-15-2011, 08:36 PM @Ritche - the submission deadline was on April 25 so there are already selected images (its on the first page of this thread).. afaik, there is no freebie except for bragging rights :D
Nick Tuason 05-16-2011, 10:19 AM Sorry no freebies, but yes you get bragging rights to your friends.

You can only see the chosen pics in the magazine. If you submitted and didn't receive any calls from the DPP team, it means that you didn't make the cut.
RitcheAsagra 05-19-2011, 04:38 PM sorry wasnt able to see the deadline...maybe nextime then...

I received an email from Angela not CALL asking the hi res photos and info about my photos, does it mean I make the cut?
johnbueno 05-20-2011, 06:21 AM I received an email from Angela not CALL asking the hi res photos and info about my photos, does it mean I make the cut?
Yes you most probably made it  coz it's the same process I got mine in the mag :D
Nigel Ian Laxamana 05-20-2011, 10:04 AM I received an email from Angela not CALL asking the hi res photos and info about my photos, does it mean I make the cut?
An email too is official, Angela Velasco is our content editor for the mag. If you received an email from her, your photo has been chosen. But it doesn't mean that it'll be published. The Layout Editor will layout the images and will see the ones that best fit.
I hope you made it. Mag's out next week. :)
romzLopez 05-20-2011, 12:08 PM what if I received the email twice? first one asking for the high res image, the second one is asking for all of the details of the shot. does that count as "will be published"?
JeromeEsparagoza 05-20-2011, 01:58 PM what if I received the email twice? first one asking for the high res image, the second one is asking for all of the details of the shot. does that count as "will be published"?
I was about to ask the same question. :-)
Scher Padilla 05-20-2011, 03:34 PM how can i post a pic there?
danpagulayan 05-20-2011, 08:30 PM how can i post a pic there?
Click the link is post #1, then upload if still possible.
But, the deadline is three weeks or so ago. Why bother?

i also received an email twice from Angela Velasco.. asking the same, hi res and details of the photos.. maybe all we have to do is wait for the mag to come out and buy to see if our entry is in..

Hmmm, i think it means your shot will get published. :)
frisco_flores 05-30-2011, 09:21 PM I just bought my copy yesterday, I did make the cut. Thanks DPP for choosing one of my photos... more power... :)
Nick Tuason 06-03-2011, 06:39 PM We email you and asked for the photo but it doesn't mean 100% you make it. There are still layout considerations and because of space restrictions, we have to drop a few.
