Just wanted to know how exactly do you go about posting a pic? Does the picture have to reside on a website (i.e. flickr, etc.) or can you upload it from your computer to the DPP site?

hi there joey..

first.. if you want to upload pictures in this thread (for example only) just click on the picture icon then paste there the URL of your picture.. you can get this URL either from your flickr account or image bucket, etc.

but if you are uploading your picture in the photo gallery. just resize your picture to the size required.. then you can browse the picture in your PC and just upload it from there :)

have fun! :)

Yup, Cez, pretty much got your query covered already. :)

To add: You'll have more freedom in your image's size in general if you upload it on your own or other website and just hotlink the image from there rather than uploading the thing directly onto DPP's server/gallery database that constricts you to a 100KB file size. :)

Disclaimer: However, not all sites allow hotlinking and the use of sizes greater than 100KB may indeed slow down the loading of the image.

HTH :)

This is weird.

I'm trying to upload a 97kb photo to the forum, but when I upload it after accessing the Manage File box, I get this:

Exceeds forum quota by 1.46 MB.

How the heck did I exceed it if the file is only 97kb??

what is the file extension of the file? currently only .gif and .jpg are allowed. Can you try again now and see if the same error shows up?

Am having same problem now.

Also, in posting pictures on a regular thread, only the URL of the pic appears on my message, not the picture itself, though I've clicked on the image button and entered the URL of the pic on the appropriate field.

Oh well...

I finally made it after several trials and errors. This are the steps
I made to successfully attached a photo/s in my post.

STEPS:
1. go to flickr and choose the photo/s you want to attach in your post.
2. Right click on the photo.
3. Choose: Properties
4. Copy the Address(URL).
Ex. In http://farm1.static.flickr.com/126/383679995_6ab9c60ad7.jpg?v=0
I only copy up to .jpg
5. Paste it in: explore user prompt (in the forum).

Your photo is now ready for viewing.

Hope you understand my instruction. Happy posting.

you can try to upload your images here: www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us).

Once you have uploaded your picture there, you can use the link, the one at the bottom.. i think there are about 6 links.. use the last one :)

i have ben using flickr to upload pictures to threads but how can we do it directly from our computer so we can just pick any picture from our drive and post? I noticed that gallery uploading can be done directly from my computer but have not been able to do it in the threads.

In my case, I have no trouble uploading in the Threads, only in Gallery where I get a message, "image pending for approval". Anyone to help me?
