Does anyone have hands-on experience and/or review of this zoom lens? I'm thinking if it's worth getting. Hope someone can share their experiences and/or comments on this. Thanks! :)

Hmmm... I was hoping for a more "technical" opinion and/or comment that this. I really hope someone can respond to this. Is it worth selling off my 14-42mm kit lens and get the 14-140mm lens as a replacement?

Does anyone know where I can get this at a reasonable price?

try amazon. micro4/3 lenses are so expensive here in the philippines. how much are you planning to sell your 14-45mm? :)

It will all depend on how much I can get the 14-140mm. Too bad I hesitated about a month ago - someone locally was selling his own 14-140mm lens for P28K but I blinked. He sold it during my time of doubt.

Anyhow, we can talk offline if and when I do decide to sell my 14-45mm. :)

Went to Infomax Megamall a few days ago and asked how much this lens would be if I buy from them... they said it would cost P54,000?? Man, they are really overpriced.

I'm still hoping to score one at a much cheaper price online. Unless anyone here would be willing to sell me theirs at a good price? :)

There's a grey market seller in Tipidpc.com. His asking price is P38K. His handle is micro43. You may want to check it out.

Yup, I've seen this seller. But still hoping for a lower price. Actually, I just missed out on two of these lens that sold for only US$550 in the U.S.

Thanks for the kind words. Hehe. I just end up wanting a good zoom lens sometimes whenever I'm looking for that extra reach (whether for taking photos or video). :)

Same thought here - it's an all-around-lens for MFT :)

I bought it from a Micro43 enthusiast from Australia. It's practically brand new (I think it was the kit lens of a GH2 he bought. He kept the body but sold off the lens). Got it a very reasonable price as compared to prices locally here. :)

Got mine last Dec. 2010 from Australia together with the GH1 at 1100 AUS dollars for both. I think I had it at a good price. It's a very good lens both for stills and video. Never left the GH1 body. BTW, I brought my GF1 w/ the pancake, the FZ100 and the LX3 for the latest trip I made to Europe last month for the low light, zoom and wide angle shots without changing lenses. No more heavy DSLRs and big lenses for me. The results were fantastic. you can see some shots at www.flickr.com/photos/eil

I agree that this lens is a very good lens - takes great pictures in good light and even in low light as long as you use the flash. Just one comment though: it's fairly heavy. I noticed it added a significant heft and weight to my GH2 when I attached it (as compared to the 14-45mm).

One other observation: I'm fairly new to interchangeable lens systems (having come from a P&S before) so I'm not sure if this is something unusual... I noticed that the lens "rattles" whenever I shake it or even just tip it from side to side. I checked my 14-45mm lens and it's the same thing but just a bit quieter. I posted this in another online forum and the consensus was that almost all AF lenses would "rattle". Is this true?

@Ricky: My guess is that's the OIS system rattling around. I think I do recall a bit of latter from the 14-45 kit I had with my G1 awhile back.

You're probably right. At first, I suspected that someone in the house accidentally dropped the lens or something, and didn't tell me. :p

Just shooting this out hoping to hear some sound advice:

Now that I have the 14-140mm lens, would it be okay to sell the 14-45mm? Are there any advantages to keeping it, considering that I also have the 20mm lens?

bingpena

Ricky, the only advantage i see is if you want to go light & at times when 45mm on the long end is enough, but then again you're using a GH2 which isn't really compact to begin with.

Thanks for the comment, Bing. That's what I kinda thought already. I was thinking that if I want to go light, I'll just use the 20mm pancake and just use my feet to zoom in if needed. :) But, since the 14-45mm is really a zoom lens, then it would be better to just use the 14-140mm. In any event, both zoom lens have similar IQ and performance IMO.

how much is this lens locally and where is it available?
also, how does it perform on low light?
is it ok to use it for concerts?

Got mine with the GH2 kit for 53k++ from B&H then freight forwarded here, Adorama would have been cheaper but they don't accept Int'l CC's and their e-bay shop doesn't take the promotional code to get it at 999USD

The OIS is fantastic! I've got shaky hands (pasmado) but

This is currently my walk-around lens. I love having the extra reach and the slightly wider angle at 14mm, compared to the 20mm.

Right now, it's a toss-up between going back to the GH2 (because I know someone who'll be sending a Balikbayan box soon) or an Olympus E-P3 (because it looks darn good). :)

Thanks Chief. Well it's a lot smaller than your usual 10x zoom really.
Here's more from Binondo - really a very versatile lens - not to mention having that wonderful O.I.S.:
