I need some help in deciding.. :)

Here's the situation, I'm torn between the two. Basically what I want is a semi compact camera. I have a 50D and 24-105 L that I rarely use right now.

I'm eyeing on the GF2 but I want the 20mm 1.7f lens. I saw the pictures on the other thread Your Lumix 20/1.7 shots here :) (http://digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/showthread.php?t=36213) and I was amazed with the captures.

The problem is the 20mm 1.7f lens comes with the GF1 package only and the new GF2 comes with the 14mm 2.5f lens (nice marketing strategy by panasonic -.-).

What do you think should I get? If I get the GF1, yes I got the lens that I want but the body is like a year released already and the 6mm range difference. But if I get the GF2, the body is just a new release same with its lens but its not the lens that I want. Do you suggest that I buy the GF2 and try to sell/trade the 14mm 2.5f lens and get a 20mm 1.7f lens? Or I buy the GF2 w/ 14mm 2.5f since it doesn't have much difference with the GF1 w/ 20mm 1.7f?

Please correct me if im wrong. Any inputs would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

being a 2x crop sensor the difference is actually 12mm (28mm vs 40mm). i've seen the gf2 spec sheet and i dont see anything on it that'll make me trade in my gf1.

Personally, I prefer the GF1 (with the mode dial) since I'm not too keen on controlling the camera primarily through a touchscreen. But if you really want the GF2 (due to its newer release and smaller size plus Full HD video capture), I suggest you get the GF2, sell off the 14mm lens and buy the 20mm lens. I'll pm you later regarding this. :)

Appreciate your inputs bingpena and RickySandoval, i'm leaning on the GF1 right now since it has the lens that I want.

I have another question, which do you think would cost more individually? The 20mm 1.7f or the 14mm 2.5f? Thanks again! :)

I have the GF1 w/20mm lens, but I like the 14mm lens of my brother's GF2. The 20mm is just not wide enough, specialy when you use the camera as an everyday carry. The GF1 is what I bring to family gatherings and outings (SLR's are too heavy), and in indoor shoots I can't get everyone in the shot. If all I want is shallow DOF from a fast aperture, I can always use a cheap toy lens (ex. 26mm f/1.4).

@bingpena, thank you very much for the link! :)

@kengo, thanks for the input. I'll basically use the cam as a replacement for my slr since, yeah, its heavy and a lot of times im really too lazy to bring it around. =]

Would you guys know where I can but a 20mm lens? How much is it really out in the market?

There's not that many sellers locally who sell Micro43 cameras and accessories. But you can try checking out www.tipidpc.com (http://www.tipidpc.com). There's one seller there - his name is Micro43, I believe - who sells the various Lumix M43 lenses. His 20mm pancake lens is for around P19-20K.
