View Full Version : Pricing for a School Graduation Package
Angelo Jacinto 01-29-2007, 11:28 AM Hi everyone, hope I can have your input on this one.
I was approached by a friend for a graduation shoot package for 100 students. I'm confident enough that I can manage the shoot, but I haven't really priced anything like this yet. Can anyone share some ideas on how the packages should go and how they should be priced? I was told they can handle the prints, but they would appreciate if I included the prints as an option.
Hoping for your inputs on this. I posted this question to help myself as well as others who'll get to read this post. It's a small step in being in line with the industry standard. :)
Rhyan_Tiangco 01-29-2007, 01:52 PM You should print the pictures yourself 'coz it is the biggest way you can profit from a grad pic shoot.
Include in your price the fee for the make-up artist and hair stylist, that is if they won't go to the parlor prior to the shoot.
Offer them frames so they can frame their 8R copy. There are a lot of cheap frames in Hidlago that looks good too.
You can scout prices of great image, new city, pixel point (i heard that they are no.1 in this league. just don't have solid proof though), digi-print pro, tropicana (for those old timers who still knows this studio. :) ).
BTW, you must have your own portable studio set-up if you're going to shoot at their school at the lights aren't provided.
Well, hope that helps man. :)

francisconmigo 02-28-2007, 09:21 PM hi guys, im also curious on how to price a highschool graduatoin pics. what sizes of prints do i need to include? how many prints per student? how much do i charge? hope u can give me figures in peso.
tnx
Nick_Espino 02-28-2007, 10:08 PM Wild Guess: If I'm operating in your market (I am not) and I'm shooting the subjects (no more than 2 layouts per student) in a studio where I would provide the stylists (hair, make-up, set) and the shoot will last 4 hours and another 4 hours of post production: I will charge no less than P1,500 per student, plus double the actual cost of print.
Rhyan_Tiangco 03-10-2007, 10:48 AM @Nick,
That sure is a high pricing. I guess that lands side by side with color point, voyeour visage studios, etc. :)
Well, if you can compete with their quality, that price is fine. Make sure you make room for "bribes" or what we call "pampadulas". Yep. this is common in the academe. The school will negotiate freebies from you if they will take you in. on top of it, they will ask for bribes so that their vote will reside on you rather than on other studios. make sure that you don't underprice yourself 'cause you'll end up tired and broke. :(
Hey you cna also include "barkada" (group) shots in your packages if there will be at least 3 persons who will take on your highest package. hope this helps.
one more note, shooting grad pic is... TIRING. hehe. :D

I'm Lei from Mary Kay Philippines. Our team is thinking of a new brand awareness project and one we have in mind is to tie up with photographers during their shoots. I was thinking maybe we can sponsor the make up of some/all of the students during your graduation or prom shoots. Please let me know your thoughts. You may contact me at 8596234. Thanks!
Wel_DeJesus 02-02-2011, 10:39 AM you can make different types of packages, 1 8r, 1 5r, 3 wallet size, 1 frame (optional) for example.... here in bulacan the price range for that package will cost around 400 to 600... you can also add in the receiving of diploma, marching and group.. depends on how much you want to add for the price...
