Is it better to have ur own staff doing the video part while you do the stills or is it better to source it out since entails more work and equipment too?

me, yes i do offer videography, as i have partnered my studio with a videographer friend, i mainly concentrate on the photography part while she concentrates on the videography part.

Outsource it to someone you can trust (one who won't over price and would keep to your set deadline). It saves you the trouble and it makes the client happy since she's hitting 2 birds with one stone (so to speak).

It's a busy world out there. Couples love the "all-in-one" type of deals. Less worries for them. You don't, of course, have to force the issue on yourself. Be honest. Kasi ikaw din ang maiipit sa huli pag pinilit mo. :)

Start of 2007 I offered by video package. I partnered with a photographer friend and invested in all the necessary equipment. Yes it is definitely challenging since it is a totally different discipline from photography. However, one thing I can tell you is if you are at least good at both (photo and video) most likely your prospective clients will not even waste time going to another videographer only supplier. Reasons:

- only talking to one person - less hassle
- most likely price will be very competitive
- harmonious relationship during coverage since only one outfit

However, be very very careful. Videography is a different field and must be offered not because you just want to lure clients but you have something to offer.
