View Full Version : Ipod As Alternative To File Storage On The Go?
Alan Fontanilla 01-23-2007, 06:42 PM Recently I've been contemplating on getting one of those memory storage devices (the ones where you can insert a CF card and it will download your files) as my on the go download as opposed to lugging a laptop. I have not actually gotten one yet ... as I discovered that I can actually use my IPOD Video to download the CF card if I attached it to my card reader.
My only problem is ... it drains the batt of the IPOD really fast. Has anybody done something of this sort as well? Does it really drain the batt fast?
Share share ...:)
cris_servillas 01-23-2007, 06:46 PM hey alan! ive done it for a while(its not a fast downloader) and stopped from using it as a storage. it really drains out the batteries fast.

Hey Tak - referring to the cheapo Digimate ata yun ... saw some in Greenhills. Pero out of stock .. so I have to just go back there again this weekend. Basic body (with CF reader) then you choose from the memory/HD size.
Reading from the thread .. mukhang ang saya nyo sa Sinulog :>

Where did you buy your portable storage device? How much?
Aly_Reyes 01-23-2007, 10:08 PM My brother got an 80gb portable storage in Singapore for around P7000. I'm not just quite sure with the brand but it had a CF slot and a small LCD screen for direct downloading.

i think aperture has this one...
Alan Fontanilla 01-23-2007, 10:48 PM I actually saw a shop in Greenhills (a computer store) selling the same stuff that Aperture sells ... at a cheaper rate. I can only assume that since this is a "computer" gadget more than a "photo gadget" that its cheaper to get it from computer stores.

I got it from Aperture Trading last year for 6800 PHP without a harddisk.
ryan rios 01-24-2007, 12:18 AM i also use a compact drive PD70X, and it works faster than digimate, 1gb of cf consumes less than 2minutes of downloading.......

I got my PD70X at Aperture Trading, the one available in greenhills is the Digimate II that I tried for a week and didn't like it because of its slow transfer rate. My Apacer CD211 OTG enclosure is better but the PD70x is much much better.
