Thinking of getting the lowepro back pack all weather or the equivalent of it from tamrac. nino_carandang 06-28-2006, 07:02 PM just get a f____ bag. the brand doesn't matter. the price does. Mon Corpuz 06-28-2006, 07:25 PM If you think orange is cool, go for Lowe Pro. Ronald_Tablante 06-28-2006, 10:12 PM I like lowepro bags. Good gear protection and the bags really look cool. If you have contacts in Singapore, better get it there. Much much cheaper. Check out this link for prices in Singapore: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=150613&page=8 Note: CP means Cathay Photo FX rate: Php1.00:S$32 rosalie_gomez 06-29-2006, 08:35 PM @archie These 2 brands are very similar. I think it's best that you go see both so you can decide. :) ANGELO SANTOS 07-01-2006, 06:20 PM like nino says, just get a bag. i use a tamrac velocity 7 and two (2) lens pouches and a lowepro computrekker aw plus. they're just the same in quality and craftsmanship. Thinking of getting the lowepro back pack all weather or the equivalent of it from tamrac. so i guess you are for outdoor as there is need for backpack and all weather ... as one said check out both and how much do you want to put inside. both seem to have very nice backpacks. i opted for tamrac (not for outdoor but just the tamrac velocity 9) as they seem to offer better price value compared to lowepro when bought locally. Kieron Tan 07-02-2006, 09:11 PM I shifted from Tamrac to Lowepro. Better built quality. JonDexterTan 07-03-2006, 07:28 AM ... Lowepro. Better built quality. I second that. And their AW system works, used it more than a couple of times and saved my gear from the rain. nino_carandang 07-03-2006, 01:38 PM lowerpro or tamrac.. its just the same for me. i still end up putting my gear in a pelican. Tok Paler 07-27-2006, 02:50 AM I just upgraded my lowepro nova 4 AW to the stealth reporter 400 AW.. bigger space, less conspi... conpis... cospin... "hindi pansinin" hehehehe =b i really would love to get my cam in a Lowepro Rover Plus AW though, but i don't go out trekking too much so i guess i'll just save it for next time... Darryl Ong 07-27-2006, 05:52 AM i'm using a tamrac bag,, maybe next time i'll try lowepro just to see the difference,, nut in the end it's just a bag,, it's only a matter of quality and style ( siguro  ) bert dalusung 07-27-2006, 09:30 AM My Tamrac Model 602 has been in service since 1986. Marton_Benitez 07-27-2006, 10:06 AM My Tamrac Model 602 has been service since 1986. Wow! That's as old as me :D cris_servillas 08-05-2006, 07:10 PM im a diehard lowepro. Derick_Gamboa 08-05-2006, 07:26 PM lowerpro or tamrac.. its just the same for me. i still end up putting my gear in a pelican.   Mwuuuuhahahahahahaha! As said, either will do, BUT, if you start with a modular system model that can eventually be upgraded with accessories, better be sure from the start. Back pack, any will do. Vest, belt bags, shoulder slings, trolleys, these need saome analysis, as future expansion can, and may be considered for "interoperability" among the models. Me I use Lowepro. But like Tito Nino, my Pelicans are for Lebanon or Iraq bound events!:Dum: sandy cuevas 08-05-2006, 11:22 PM I use Lowepro bags (minitrekker aw & nova 4).. got first a minitrekker AW and was forcibly put to the test when I went to China.. it rained hard on a cold 4 deg day during a 30min trek (I was wearing a thin plastic raincoat just enough for myself and why did I ever forget to bring those black garbage bags!!) and the AW cover is all that protected the bag from rain.. checked my gear in the hotel and no seeps whatsoever, whew! levi lacandula 08-05-2006, 11:35 PM @ sands but you have to agree that tamrac bags (at least jojit's) is built like a tank. it can withstand a honda civic:) . sandy cuevas 08-06-2006, 12:05 AM @levi you're absolutely right! hehe.. :D well to give a compliment remark on the tamracs and just to share how it got tested and why we termed as "built like a tank" (sorry if a bit OT).. our colleague's tamrac containing several lenses was unconsciously placed in front of my civic during a wedding shoot along a stretch of road.. then it suddenly started to rain, so instinctively, I drove off.. then I heard a certain "clanking" underneath.. I initially thought that I had a flat tire or the suspension's gone haywire.. I peeked underneath and there goes the tamrac near the gas tank hehe.. I think it just suffered some greasing (due to the weatherproofing), scratches and luckily, the lenses inside were unharmed (I think? :Scared:).. whew! Derick_Gamboa 08-06-2006, 08:47 AM @Sandy, Oh man, really? really? So the car sort of backed-up into the bag being "under", making wedge between the tank and the street? Not the tires? Cant believe if it survived, being rolled over by the (if it were) tires. So did the bag do the entire car's length, or did you stop? nap_alcedo 08-06-2006, 08:59 AM I suppose the tires never had the chance to roll over the bag, otherwise this testimony will not be a "good" one. I would rather believe the pelican cases might be able to withstand the tires plus the vehicle weight, of a Honda Jazz maybe or a tricycle. sandy cuevas 08-06-2006, 09:49 PM yep the bag got wedged between the underchassis and pavement.. due to the small clearance, it kinda rolled heavily underneath from front towards the gas tank area (not by the tires) when I drove the car forward.. I used a jack to raise the car and pulled out the bag hehe  James Rosca 08-07-2006, 09:12 AM does anyone know how much a lowepro back pack for camera and notebook cost? karlo_inigo_lucas 08-25-2006, 01:36 PM i use a tamrac adventure 7. fits my d200 with 18-70 attached, my 80-200 plus accessories. it kinda gets crowded or i just haven't figure a way to make them all fit in a "comfy" manner. chewychua 08-25-2006, 02:12 PM tamrac velocity 7 for me :) i love this bag and it keeps my gear safe: 70-200mm f/2.8 10-20mm ultrawide 18-200mm VR attached on to my D70s SB800 flash or... 28mm f/1.8 10-20mm 50mm f/1.8 18-200mm vr attached to my D70s SB800 flash mackyfaylona 11-06-2006, 10:23 PM Got a lowepro, tamrac, and crumpler. It's all the same but the rain cover of the lowepro will be of great help in the outdoor setting. The point is you should find a bag that will fit your equipment and as well as your demands when your shooting outdoors. Roro Fernandez 11-06-2006, 10:32 PM Also got a Tamrac & Crumpler. But I like the build of Crumpler better, but between Lowepro & Tamrac, I think Lowepro is better, build-wise. roget callueng 11-08-2006, 11:08 AM I have a tamrac expedition 5. Its good, but what I dont like about it is that it has too many straps which dangle all over the place. I just dont think i'll be able to use the straps unless I go hiking or mountaineering. I havent tried lowepro. Darryl Ong 12-25-2006, 03:27 PM i agree with nino,, i think quality-wise they are the same,, but tamrac is cheaper,, so i'll go with tamrac ( already got 3 tamrac bags,, so far no prob,, except space problem ) rosalie_gomez 12-25-2006, 04:13 PM I finally gave in and decided to get a Lowepro Toploader, very happy! :) jerrytieng 12-25-2006, 06:23 PM Welcome to the club, Ros! I'm planning to get another Toploader 75 nga, I'm just worring that when I go out shooting, I'm going to look like a camel with saddlebags! :D moises_biason 05-19-2007, 08:32 PM anyone here uses tamrac adventure 6? how much is it nowadays? Greg Morales 05-19-2007, 09:39 PM Domke is still tops for me...had one that lasted me for years...bought my first one in 98 and still alive today and usable. recently got a new one at avenue during photoworld. they are compact and good foir quick draw shooting needs. I do have a slightly used cyber pack 9...willing to give it away to the best offer. Gid Ferrer 05-19-2007, 10:47 PM anyone here uses tamrac adventure 6? how much is it nowadays? Im using the very similar Adventure 7... I like this bag because of the rubber pads on the shoulder strap. I wont slip a bit! Used this bag on my last trek in Bacolod while it was raining. I guess it wasnt too much of a rain because my gear was still dry after the trek. JT is selling the Adventure7-P3,400. Adventure 6-P2950. Got their list with me hehe...:D moises_biason 05-19-2007, 10:54 PM @ Gid Thanks for the info man! ArthurLegardo 05-20-2007, 03:22 AM I plan on buying a Tamrac Adventure 9 before my trip to the Philippines in October. I want to bring a good selections of lenses, not all, but definitely my 70-200/2.8, as well as a change of clothes and personal items. My collection of bags includes various ones from Tamrac and Lowepro. As long as one company has something I am looking for, I will buy from them - I don't have a brand loyalty. sandro_mendoza 05-20-2007, 03:33 AM I shifted from Tamrac to Lowepro. Better built quality. i did the same...i had a tamrac velocity 7 before, but decided to change to a lowepro slingshot 100. because in my opinion it is more durable, well-padded, and fit for my need. Peterson Yap 05-20-2007, 12:57 PM I chose the Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW after DPP had a good review with it. Not at all disappointed with the quality. P. |
