THANKS.

Peter Jaena 01-21-2007, 07:57 PM Sandisk is very reliable, and so is Ridata. Whichever you choose, you cannot go wrong with both brands. I use both brands, and have not had any problems with them whatsoever. Even my very old Sandisks from my very 1st IXUS 2mp camera still works until today. :)
orlando_arcelao_jr 01-21-2007, 07:57 PM I have a Sandisk Extreme III 1GB CF card and a Sandisk Ultra II 1GB CF card. All I can say is the Extreme III performs a little bit teeny weeny faster than its Ultra II equivalent.
If you can afford Sandisk then go for it! It is the most trusted brand of professionals when it comes to storage media. They even have a lifetime warranty to attest that claim! :)
Anton Lorenzo 01-21-2007, 08:08 PM I have both the Sandisk Extreme III (1GB) and the Ridata 150x (2GB). No problems so far. Ridata has a lifetime warranty and that is a good thing. I plan to get 2 more Ridata CF's. For the price, Ridata offers a lot of value.
cris_servillas 01-21-2007, 09:01 PM i have the 1GB of normal, ultra 2 and the extreme 3...and it really works great. downloading time to the pc is fast.
Vic Rosales 01-21-2007, 10:13 PM My 1st 1 gig Ridata died after taking 40 shots for the first time on it. Lots of good photos lost there.
It was replaced immediately by Henry of Henry's Camera in Hidalgo via delivery meet-up midway on the same day.
3 Days later I bought the Sandisk Extreme 3 1 gig in Hong Kong and I don't regret it. Much better and I feel more confident using it. I now leave the Ridata as a back-up.

Were you able to benchmark both the Ultra II and Extreme 3?
I tested both my 2 gig Ultra II and Extreme 3 and find no difference in the transfer speed. I get about 2.9 mb transfer rate on both.

Jeff Vergara 01-22-2007, 07:02 AM im also using sandisk extreme iii and doesn't fail me yet (no corrupt files). transfers fast too. i have no experience with ridata though...
Aly_Reyes 01-22-2007, 10:35 AM I have a Sandisk Extreme III 2Gb and a Ridata 150x 1GB. If ever there is a speed difference, at the rate I'm using them, its very negligible. They both haven't failed me yet (knock on wood).
ricky_ladia 01-22-2007, 10:44 AM My first sandisk crashed but a friend was able to recover the files 101%(photos of Lance Gokongwei) had supplier replaced it with Extreme III, been using it for three months, fast writing and transfer. Also using Ridata Pro 2Gb, they are right, differenece in speed is very negligible. Whenever your CF card fails, don't format it or never do anything to it until you have the files recovered thru a recovery software.:)
Sundee Guevara 01-22-2007, 07:17 PM Speaking of crashed Compact Flash cards, my SanDisk Extreme II 2GB recently did a 180 on me. I loaded it in the CF slot of my D2X and it didn't recognize the card (it still showed - E - on the display). Thankfully I didn't have any photos inside.
However, the same CF card's icon shows up on the desktop of my laptop when I plug it in a third party card reader. It's only my camera that doesn't see it. When I use another card that's just like my old one, it shows up with no problem...on the camera and on the desktop.
Should I reformat the problematic SanDisk Extreme II that doesn't get recognized by my camera? Is there a procedure I should follow?
Greatly appreciate any advice.

i use both the extreme III and Ridata...both are very reliable...the difference is the price...I guess its more practical to buy the RIDATA, in terms of value for money...2 or 3 cards for the price of 1 extreme III ...IMHO...:)
jose_deluna 01-22-2007, 07:46 PM Extreme III works great for me... either on a KM or Canon system. Recently, I started using 4GB CF cards from Silicon Power (80X) and they seem to be unforgiving when it comes to transfer rate speed and image buffering... super bilis at mabilis din mag-bakante ng buffer... in Canon 400D I can practically shoot conitnuously until battery drains out or the card gets full.
Norman_P._Aquino 01-23-2007, 04:48 PM I use a 4gb Extreme III and highly recommend it. But it's a lot more expensive than the Ridata 150x. The speed advantage also depends on the writing technology that your camera uses.
Cheers,
Norman

I haven't experienced any crashes yet on my CF cards but what I would do if I were in your case is format the CF if the camera can still sense it. If not, my brother told me to do the formatting from your computer via your cf card reader and then format it again on the camera. Its always best to have the final format using your camera.
tonio_garcia 01-23-2007, 05:54 PM San Disk is the best for me. Never had any problems with them.

Try to format it using your PC, and then format it again with your Camera. Good Luck!!:)
