What would you want on your tripod?
A BH-55 from RRS or an M20 from Markins?

Go for the BH-55! :)

The BH-55 is far superior to the Markins. Another option would be ArcaSwiss B1 or the Kirk BH-1. Any of this 3 will give you years of service and if something does happen to go wrong they are easily repaired and serviced.

On the web you will hear fantastic things about the Markins, take it all with a pinch of salt.

@Mike @Orlando: Thanks for the input, guys. Unfortunately, BH-55 was out of stock and no date for shipping.:(

@ john

you might want to check out foba superball. i've been using mine for more than fifteen years and they're still doing good except for some superficial scratches.

Thanks for the info, Jeanne. I recently got a Markins M20 and, so far, works well. I'll try the Foba and Novoflex next.
