hi guys! i'd like to get yr opinion re camera lenses. i currently have the 24-70L f2.8 and prime 50 lenses and im thinking of buying another lens. would it be a wide angle lens. medium telephoto or an 85mm prime?:)

i guess it depends on what type of shooting are you doing? assuming that you just shoot everyday subjects then i guess the best lens that you could buy is a lens that would give you a range thats not yet covered with your existing lens lineup. if i were in your shoes and based on the assumptiion....i would either buy a 70-200 f4L / 2.8L or a 10-22 (assuming that you are not using a FF cam or have no plans in upgrading to a FF cam)

Look back at the pictures you have taken so far and see if you are more on the 24mm or 70mm side of your lens. That should be an indication of where to go next. Or do you find yourself always moving back to get a wider FOV or moving forward to get closer? :)

I suggest get the 10-20mm. your 70mm is enough for you to cover most of your telephoto need .... and you can always zoom feet =)

no plans and budget for ff cam yet!:) maybe in the nxt yr or so.. m leaning towards the wide angle lens.. my dilemma, 10-22 canon or the 12-24 tokina? i heard that the tokina is rich in detail.. how true?

Pre,

Welcome to DPP...I think you should get a 70 to 200 2.8 lens IMHO :)

havent heard much about the tokina 12-24 but I have read and heard so much excellent reviews on the canon 10-22. I guess look for reviews on both lenses and take your pick.......at least now you've narrowed down your options as to which lens would be your next purchase
