no problem.. i'm sure i'll learn a lot from you guys... kinda hard to shift from lomography to dp... i'm also a starting lomographer but when i bought this new toy, i'm willing to absorb the principles i need to digest..it'll take time but i know i can do it little by little :Grin:

Hi Team D3100!!! Hope that you will make your team active so you may learn from each other.. Try also to post more pictures in your thread for C&C's. We at Team D3K (your older molder) will try to visit your thread to give little advices to improve your skills.. I, for one, is also a beginner.. Just a bit experience now, thanks to DPP and our constant Team meeting.. Good luck to you guys!!! Shoot, shoot shoot!!!

Taken at 52mm, ISO 100, 8 secs, F8, Rear Curtain Flash at EV -0.7. PP using Silver Efex Pro at Photoshop CS5.

Now if the male figure in the statue bears a very striking resemblance to Piolo Pascual, it is because he was the model. The female figure on the left was sculpted at Charlene Gonzales' image. Both were Thomasians.

There will be a Jubilee Mass this 5pm, because today is the feast day of St Thomas. I guess it will be the finale, as the celebration started last Sunday. I am not sure, though.

A little help please...I already have a kit lens and a 35mm prime. But coming from a superzoom p&s, there are times when i look for that zoom power (shooting birds, farm cattle, girls, etc). However, I am just a newbie and being in a profession entirely different from photography, will not get any ROI, so investing heavily (i.e. > 15K) on another lens is out of the question. I just love being able to shoot something so far away.

Is there any bang-for-the-buck zoom lens out there that's compatible with our D3100? How much? I'm thinking along the line of 55-300 lenses. Where in Hidalgo or anywhere else can they be bought? TIA!

Another option i'm considering is buying a decent superzoom (FZ100) as secondary camera instead of investing in another lens since their price difference is not that far.

^ the Nikkor 55-200mm VR is your best bet for zooming along with a tight budget. Sharp lens even at the long end (200mm). I think it only costs 8-9k these days. Additionally, the new 55-300mm VR is also looking promising especially the fact that it is cheaper than the 70-300mm VR counterpart.

Oh, and try to stay away from those cheapy 70-300mm zoom lenses, not even the non-VR nikkor one! :)

+1 on the 55-200. Got one for myself just recently and I love it.

No worries--there's always room for improvement/learn.
All you need is to play back your photos and press the upward arrow button on our gun to show those details (ISO, Exposure, WB and etc.), these things will help and guide us all on what will be our next subject, given with almost the same condition.

Woooow-woooh! wait guyz--first I'd like to thank you guyz (sirs and madams) for the trust but I don't have any experience in organizing such an event like this
but if you guyz are willing to help me up, :)

I'll do my best for the team---kind a little busy this month,
I got my school project + work + etc

19 would be great but I still need time for my editing,
my next free sched will be on April 2--Saturday, by then we have enough time to prepare <for a whole day event, just like what I mention to ma'm Rachelle/Cheng we can meet-up in a coffee shop--gateway mall (Araneta area there are lots of CS there to choose from, plus the LRT and MRT is just next to us, for easy access) and have some bonding before going out to the road and then come back for sharing, C&C and etc--then go back to take more shots and last do final C&C to check if there's an improvement>.

:)Woooow-woooh! wait guyz--first I'd like to thank you guyz (sirs and madams) for the trust but I don't have any experience in organizing such an event like this
but if you guyz are willing to help me up, :)

I'll do my best for the team---kind a little busy this month,
I got my school project + work + etc

19 would be great but I still need time for my editing,
my next free sched will be on April 2--Saturday, by then we have enough time to prepare <for a whole day event, just like what I mention to ma'm Rachelle/Cheng we can meet-up in a coffee shop--gateway mall (Araneta area there are lots of CS there to choose from, plus the LRT and MRT is just next to us, for easy access) and have some bonding before going out to the road and then come back for sharing, C&C and etc--then go back to take more shots and last do final C&C to check if there's an improvement>.

All you need guys is to add your "REAL Name", location and contacts on the list and make your self updated.
So far no further requirements but perhaps once the group formalized the team we'll start making some adjustment to it make more exciting for everyone.
For now our first project is to have an EB from there we can plan the Grand-EB for more activities coming ahead.

so far the tentative date is on April 2, Saturday (Gateway)--open for suggestions and then we can have our voting!

1. On the first picture: was the lens distortion applied after the fact?
