Our studio is being built and should be finished mid November. We'll surely organize some shoots there although I'm with Derick----will kick back and drink instead. FYI, Derick, I'm building a wet bar beside the studio so you'll feel comfortable!

Well, lots of work to do anyway....

LBC's courier in my area is quite unreliable. They didn't deliver my LP 2 so I had to make a call to Bella Luce for a replacement. They also delivered my BDO Reward card to a wrong address which will take a month to replace. Hopefully, LBC doesn't foul up again.

same here... my PLDT bill came up LATE when I've already paid for it. The previous delivery was fast, I'm not sure if it's the people or the software for managing their deliveries is at fault...

somewhat related, the guide to dSLRs (summarized with the 1DmkIV "bannering at the top") towards the end still shows the 7D as having ISO 50-___ and 5DmkII as ISO A, 100-___
I've seen this since previous issues. I went, "Really I can have ISO 50? wow!" Then I googled and didn't find anything about it :( Ohwell, maybe something to note for the next issues? (Actually I really hope its not a typo and I can 'activate' ISO50 on my 7D)

@ginodgomez - not sure with 7D but with 5D, you just have to set the iso expansion to "1" (on). You will then have an ISO "L" which is equivalent to 50, "H1" (ISO 12800) and "H2" (ISO 25600). Hope this helps.

@jmDonaire - I can only speak for my 7D, on which I (think I) have Auto, 100-6400 (expandable to H:12800). I do know for a fact that 5D can go to 50. :)

page 116 of issue 34 says ISO sensitivity: 50-6400 for 7D. just wondering about that 50. I don't think its anything "native" or "out of the box" :D but I hope I can get to it! hehe

It's a different light set up and processing style, you know me, I try to get as much shades of grey as I can in terms of Black and white conversion, though on hindsight, it really would have helped if I pushed the curves a bit to make the tattoos pop or do a little burning :)

I shot B& W in RAW so that Karl got to see the image in B&W while shooting. However, once you download a B&W RAW image, in LightRoom (which is what I use, it automatically reconverts itself to colored (except for the jpg attachements) I later on use my own formula for black and white conversion so that I have more control.

i just bought this issue ... im so happy to have this. michael kenna's photos blew me away and although im not into studio photography nowadays, its insightful to learn the tips and tricks.

I like the minimalist article, this is one of the field of photography I want to pusue together with low light photograpy. And only few people appreciate these style. I had fun reading it! Inspiring :)

Just got the news this evening. Karl Roy passed away last 1AM today due to lung complications.

I am currently reading DPP Issue 34 as a personal tribute. May he rest in peace.
