I bought my first camera, a Minolta Dynax 300si, in 1999 primarily as a tool for taking images that would serve as references in my future paintings. Though it's still exhilarating to paint plein air, having those photo refs certainly made things easier for me to paint at home too. Especially when weather conditions doesn't permit me to be outside. Or when a fleeting scene needs to be captured right away. Or when a beautiful sunset is fading fast into the horizon.

Anyways, this painting I did was a result of one of those pictures I took while trudging our way to Sagada's Big Falls. Had I stopped and took out my pencil first, this dragonfly would be out of there in no time.

Beautiful! What software do you use for painting?

Thanks!

It's done with Hand 1.0, by the way.

Just kidding. Hehe!

No, seriously. I meant I did that with my own bare hands and a brush. The good ol' manual way of painting. Messy and fun. :)
