Help!!! i was cleaning my bag, a lowepro nova AW mini and one main compartment zipper was stuck with salt encrustation.
I was able to fix it by using WD40 and oil and pulling it hard with a carabiner.
to my horror i got the same salt built-up on a much smaller zipper for the pack cover!
anyone knows how to remove fix salt-encrusted zippers?
thanks

i have tried wd40 yesterday, but it does not seem to corrode the salt. I have left it with some wd40 overnight and will be checking it up once i get home today, may need something much more corrosive to salt......

if i haven't used wd40 i would have exposed it extreme temperatures....
hmm what if i soak it overnight in lukewarm water....

here is something we do for our fishing gear after our deep sea fishing trips... we thoroughly rinse them out with fresh water... air dry them with compressed air... then towel dry... then apply silicon spray or wd 40 depending on the parts... then for items such as swivels hooks etc... we put them in old film cases (black ones with the gray covers) and let them soak in a little gear oil for storage in our tackle boxes... the fresh water helps take out the salt... in extreme cases of build up either soaking it in water for a while or in oil works for us... im not exactly sure how u can soak ur zippers since i dont know how it is mounted on your bag but when ur done with it you can use a rubber eraser to go over the zipper tracks and it will help with making the zipper run smooth again...
