View Full Version : What's your Dream project?
g-nie arambulo 06-25-2006, 09:38 PM There are lots of things that can be done only if i may focus on certain things.
I would like to have time to work on a personal poject again where all my creativeness
wil come out and might possibly have an exhibit again one day.
I just hope i could do something unique and ideal or something new to start with.
Or maybe i could have a client who can give me sorth of a dream project. Like shooting
their products showing people using their product around the world like Coke or Pepsi maybe. ... Or maybe i would like to have a coffee table book showing best food around the world. Is it obvious that I like to travel? :) :D
I better have time to think of my dream project and be serious about it. What about you what's your dream project?
Charles Penacerrada 06-25-2006, 09:49 PM my dream project? for now is my portfolio... this is like a battle among my fellow amateur photographers who wants to penetrate fashion photography industry. im not sure when im gonna finish it because fresh new ideas keeps on coming along... i just hope someday one editorial company will appreciate the team's hard work. :)
levi lacandula 06-25-2006, 10:39 PM nice thread.
since im really into travel, portraiture and food... i would love to have a coffee table book that features all my travel but would concentrate on "undiscovered" places here in the philippines. capture the people, food and culture.... im sure it will happen... just dont know when :) :)
jojo_mamangun 06-25-2006, 11:45 PM my dream prooject is to have my photo exhibit. then a coffee table book after that. but then befor that happens, i should have a project that will make it all happen.

dindin_lagdameo 06-26-2006, 06:42 PM my dream project would be to shoot:
1. photos of children in their natural environment (not studio setting)... put their photos in notecards... thank you cards... (good quality printing)
2. hopefully, this Christmas, make a nice birthday book (looks like a calendar book) but without days (mondays-sundays)... that will feature the flower photos I took...
now, that's even different from my ambition dream project... but, I'll dream about that when I start being a pro... hahahaha
just dreaming aloud...

Nono Felipe 09-12-2006, 04:17 PM My dream project is to shoot Ateneo UAAP ballgames using ceiling-mounted strobes that will be good enough to give me 1/400, F/4, ISO 800 settings. I also want to mount one camera at the back of each backboard. These will be armed with 16-35 2.8 lenses and will be triggered using pocketwizards. The main camera will be what I will be handholding.
Getting the necessary permits for such is a pain. Libre naman mangarap. In English, "Free anyway to dream." :)

Ross idea is great! I just hope we can work on this and look for sponsors to make this dream a reality..... We can think of an idea and present it to them and who knows....
:)
arnel_murillo 09-13-2006, 12:42 AM Just a wild thought, baka pwede to, we sell to the different brands who's on the billboard then they will also be the sponsor of that particular billboard as part of their campaign, maybe their  logo can be attached somewhere., but the visuals will be from the artist ciguro lang thematic photos, it may also qualify for the book of world records?

this is one my dream too, but for me, even just one billboard would be fine :)
Sir Ross, how about starting small with this, its really a longshot to reface all the billboards in the major highways, but we can atleast start with one, then like you said, every month it will cater a single photographer ( parties and cocktails on its launch  ) Maybe the buzz this monthly event will bring, would make the other advertiser want to join the bandwagon, and another will follow.. then another.. then another.. then off to Boracay and Cebu we go :D
jose_deluna 09-13-2006, 10:06 PM RE-FACING all billboards in EDSA, NLEX, etc... is not impossible to realize. Probably, one way is to recruit all the photographers/advertisers/artists/designers who are already involved in doing such jobs, I'm almost certain that a lot of DPP members are already doing such kind of job... discuss the concept... create a forum (not only online but rather on-the-ground)... make a unified agenda... you really do not need to create new concepts but rather innovate on the existing practices, another way of saying "re-inventing the wheel." Nonetheless, self-interest and personal agenda should be set aside for such all-embracing concept to work. I always believe that if the "maka-sarili" attitude is transcended into "pagkakaisa," substantial amount of achievements are easily realized.
Ang mahirap lamang dito, artists (or even photographers) are inherently individualists... that is, each and everyone are very precarious in subjecting their unique identity towards the formation of a unified identity. When that day comes, I guess I can easily say that my dream project came true... that of influencing the formation of a truly unified Filipino photographers/artists.

Ria Vallesteros 09-25-2006, 03:35 PM I've always wanted to do a series on the Paris Metro. Some stations are amazing - like the one near the Sorbonne where the walls are peppered with the signatures of French literary geniuses and the Louvre station feels like you're already inside the museum.
Someday!

Hi Jose,
In year 2000, i was able to lead a group of established Filipino Artists to re-do the Spolarium, called Maliarium...its a 7 meters dream project which was shown at the CCP...this year, this mural will be permanently exhibited side by side with the real Juan Spoliarium at the National Museum...there maybe willing "individualists" here who may want break their shells who wanted to work with me, sanay na tayo sa crab mentality, "pataasan ng ihi" wont work with me anymore...i brought a replica of this project in New York and in San Francisco and was given a full review by different art critics...ABS CBN runs the interview for a month thru their cable channel, here's the link of the project

Rosscapili 10-05-2006, 07:48 AM pagkakataon mo na sir. balita ko nasira yata karamihan sa billboards sa EDSA. hahahaha :D
The first day after the typhoon is a welcome sight, seeing all those billlboards rolled down is a visual feast:) ....the GMA administration should see the "sign"(if not the billlboards!)- mother nature can do its act if they are slow in implementing to regulate it, i heard the guadalupe billboards costs an advertiser 300T per month, but i heard from one businessman who owns one of the billboards that they only get 100T monthly, yung 200T saan napunta?...do you think that billboard growing concern to regulate would work?...let's dream and hope that MMDA's Chair BayaniFernando, Miriam Defensor Santiago etc (its good indications that politicians have heart and artists too) will succeed in their quest to regulate- for the future of the next gen:)
