I dont think that there will be a "kapaan" moment. Once you see a person and he has a dslr or a dslr bag just ask him if they are part of QCPC. I'll bring a pen and paper on that day to take note of the attendance :)

heads up on shooting within the qcmc grounds...not dslr friendly (what's new, right.) when i did a model shoot there for the digital katipuneros, the group was told by the guards permit/s are needed. we only got away with it because it started to rain fairly hard...we found a tent that was already set up and took shelter there. decided to setup our lights and start shooting inspite of the rain. since the guards were busy keeping themselves dry elsewhere, we were able to do a few hours worth of shooting uninterrupted. :)

on a separate occasion, another dk member who tried shooting there (random shots) solo with a tripod also was approached by one of their guards.

since i'm a little stubborn as well, i tried shooting there again a few months ago with a model but got away with it though the guards keeping a close eye on me for most of the time. they probably couldn't tell if it was a photoshoot or if i was taking photos of a girlfriend or something since it was only me and the model. :D

to avoid any hassles on the 1st eb and shoot/walk of this group, i'd suggest opting for ninoy aquino parks and wildlife which is slightly closer to trinoma (i actually walk to trinoma after shooting there). except for the amphitheater, i don't recall guards stopping me from shooting within the park regardless if it were landscape, model/s, macro.


on another note, i've been lurking around this thread for some time. i'll see if i can dropby and meet everyone in this new group...pending my shoot commitments over this weekend.

I mean, yeah just going for a meet and greet defeats the purpose why we are going for the Eb itself but how about we get the chance TO REALLY MEET & GREET first? You know, socialize abit, get to know each other instead on going full speed and then end up breaking away like it was just another regular EB? an eb that branches off to a shoot or walk is almost a given (but not a requirement) in photography group/club. i've been part (and still am) of 2 groups from their very 1st ebs which did involve a shoot or walk. unless the eb is a 'don't bring your camera' one, it's highly likely the urge to shoot will show up. :)

Got your point Sir Andy! thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's actually going to be my first EB ever since I'm mostly out of the country (working abroad. hehehehe) I know being 'trigger happy' that we all are (who isn't anyway? lol) no one can't resist the urge to shoot afterwards.
