Hi there Sirs,

I just hope i'm right, i didn't see any Private Message to MODS Section here.
Is it okay posting this request on public forum?

I posted a thread under "Photo Challenge Section"
titled " A Photo Challenge and A BIG Favor"...
I would just like to ask your good sense to bring it back sana,
at least put it in the last part of the section
where noone would bother view it. It's closed anyway. An archive maybe..

Why? the main essense of my thread like that is only
to capture the moment and to surprise my wife-to-be
that i documented it with the help of fellow photographer "forum friends".
and also to initiate a small EB amongst us...

And that thread is also part of the surprise i'm gonna do during the wedding day.
I'm gonna show my wife-to-be how did i come up with such crazy idea of shooting the proposal,
the request i made with forum friends ("strangers"). the responses of the people, who shot us, etc.

The thread i created never violated any rules of your site.
Hope you understand my request.
Thank you in advance and have a good day Sirs...=)

Joms,

I am sure this would be taken up properly and addressed accordingly. There may be some wisdom in lowering expectations of approval, as the rules are pretty firm around DPP. I am sure MODS and ADMIN would look at that. Not all Mods have the "powers" to grant your request. Some are taken under advise and noted. Just setting your expectations.

thank you sir Derick.

or maybe MODS/ADMIN could email me the page by page account of the thread.
Is it possible? the complete details of the thread...from page 1 to 4...?
no need to bring it back here, just need to save the page by page account of the thread.
coz I'm gonna show my wife-to-be how did i come up with such crazy idea of shooting the proposal...

thank you again...=)

Hi there Sirs,
The thread i created never violated any rules of your site.

that thread violated rules 4 and 5 of the commandments.

IV) No insults or personal attacks against any members of the forum. If you are insulted, do not retaliate but instead report it to the Admin.

Need I say more? We’ve seen our share of attacks on this forum and what’s even more irritating than the personal attacks are the other members who try to add more wood to the fire.

V) No blatant advertising, spam, or solicitation is allowed unless approved by the Admin. You cannot use this site to promote and sell personal services. Posts that are not approved by us will be deleted.

This doesn’t mean that we will not post services here. Its just that you need to get approval before you do so and if we deem it a good service to the community then we will post it. Some members think putting something up for sale under their “signature” is not selling. In our eyes it is and we will delete the signature without having to inform the member. You may see though some advertising and promotions from our sponsors. We allow this since it is through their support that the magazine and this forum exist.

i was aggresively urging you to rethink of your post as there was nothing in favor of the photographer. this was brought to you in gentler words by a mod. what seems to be a favor to you maybe actual work for someone who's ever done something like that. no change was made to your post, it became a trolling thread, and i requested for it to be closed.

FYI, when it comes to posts that may be 'work related' or you are looking for a photographer to render you some service, it's best to ask the mods or admin. 2 years ago i was to post a 'looking for photographers for the middle east' here for a friend who was setting up a business in dubai. before i posted it, as i was not sure of what i was to do, i asked the admin(nick tuason, who is a professional photographer himself) if i could do so and my pm to him included the actual post that i was to put here. he turned it down due to rule #4. no hard feelings as this is their site and i saved myself the effort.

I made a judgment call and whacked the thread. I realize the thread starter may only have had good intentions with his request to get a photographer to shoot a surprise for his wife, but I felt that this could set the precedent for people soliciting in the DPP Forum.

I don't see why Jom's just doesn't cough up P 1,500- P 2,000 and just pay a photographer directly. Find someone you trust that can do this job for you. Your wife will be surprised that you actually hired a photographer to shoot. Imagine soliciting an inexperienced photographer, surprising your wife, and then getting crappy photos. Who wins here? No one.

this favor is not just a favor. not even a solicitation.
im just trying to create or initiate a small EB of sorts among us, too
who wants to learn more about photography, thus, making my surprise a reality.

i am not an employer. i wont gain any from the work you guys gonna do
if you grant the favor except CHEESYNESS...and the experience...

When you shoot insects in UP as part of your small EB, do the insects pay you? =)

sir paolo, sorry but you don't get the true essense of the thread. peace 'yo...

sir admins/mod, is it possible if you could email me the page by page account of the thread?
please? the purpose is only to show it to my wife-to-be how did i come up with the idea. =)

If that thread wasn't deleted... every Tom, Dick & Harry will post here DPP asking for "favors" from "co-DPP members" to shoot every conceivable event (or a "small EB" in short) for free so that they can "learn more about photography".

haaaayyy...the only essense of the thread is CHEESYNESS not to mention CAMERA-derie...
please don't complicate, over-analyze things out...

DPP or any other sites, i believe is a public forum dedicated to those who wants to learn more...
we're here to learn and meet new friends, CAMERADERIE as they say it...haaaayyyy...

"initiate a small EB of sorts among us"

> yeah sure, after proposing just leave your wife to be there and party with your new found photographer friends in secret.

> yes you are soliciting.

> yes you have everything to gain.

> yes DPP is a public forum. read the TOS. just because tis a public place doesn't mean you can piss all over it.

> if I could actually pay an insect to stay put or hover in place, I would.
