Hi Everyone,

Every issue of the LONELY PLANET will have a section called POSTCARDS that will feature photos taken by readers. We will give priority to DPP Shooters to have their TRAVEL images published in the LONELY PLANET. If we like your photo, we will contact you.

Some points:

1. A special LONELY PLANET Postcards Gallery will be opened for every issue of the magazine.

2. DPP shooters will be allowed to submit 3 images per ISSUE.

3. Your photo must have a title attached to it.

4. If we contact you, you must be able to provide background information about the photo. For the LONELY PLANET, we don't care for camera settings or photography technique, we want to know where the image was taken, when, why, etc.

5. Your photo must have been taken within the last 12 months otherwise we won't publish.

6. Digital editing is allowed but adding of elements is not. The picture should be true to its nature.

7. TRAVEL is pretty general. It can be landscapes, landmarks, photojourn, etc. You should read Issue 31 for tips. :)


OTHER: We will need about 40 Photos to be printed for the LONELY PLANET Launch Party. The Launch Party will be on May 19 at the Ayala Museum. If we choose your photo, we will give you a personal invitation to attend the party since your photo will be displayed in the Museum on that day. More details about the party coming soon.

Just a couple of questions sir, when will the gallery for this be opened? Also, point #2 says: "submit 3 images per photo" - does this mean DPP shooters / readers are allowed to submit a max of 3 images per issue?

Lemjay there was no previous gallery for the first issue. Postcards for the first issue was basically offered privately to DPP Mods and heavy supporters. Issue 2 onwards comes open territory.

Sirs, please be reminded that the mode of our conversation in this forum is in English as stated in the guidelines. :) Why English? because not all of us here are Filipino readers.

Anyway, as for the Lonely Planet cards, I think the deadline was May 1. It was mentioned by someone pages ago. I am not sure, please do backread.
