I noticed that there are plenty of photography clubs (nocturnals, lpcc, advocacy, yopho..etc) here in dpp and some have a large number of members. Don't you guys think that maybe the large photography groups should have a spot to have a forum of their own?

i agree with maricris. and also there should be a common LOUNGE as well for all groups to join together.

@TS
Hi there. Do you mean a board within a board?
I think giving the biggest groups their own forum would probably create segragation on the board and will be a precedent for other groups as well. It'll probably consume more bandwith too, plus added management work for the admin. It'll also cause people to stay within their club forum most of the time.
I think having the devoted club threads is sufficient enough because it's causing everybody to still interact with everybody on the main board. :)
Just my 2 cents. :)

The perfect world has a forum setup for clubs where club matters are only discussed. General photography topics should be done in the general forums. So far we haven't set up special forums within forums. We've definitely thought about it but it could be a nightmare to moderate and monitor. Also, it causes alienation where members just interact within their own club and do not discuss photography with the general community, what DPP was set up in the first place.
Just look around at some of our members names. There are guys with over 1,500 posts but the general community do not know who they are because they only post within their clubs. If you have over 1,500 posts you should have loads of friends in DPP. Its not the case anymore.
If you guys have better suggestions let me know. We want to promote and help members form clubs, but we also don't want them to keep to themselves and neglect the rest of the forum.

normally large groups would have their own forum/fora for them to use to discuss within their group, however it's also right as Nick replied earlier that it would even be better if relations are established further if members of all groups would converse without the boundaries of a forum for a group.
