May I ask how to put a really good Signature line on your photo. Do you have an Action already for it? How do you get that C with the circle around?

Would appreciate your inputs.

Hi RC, i use the bundled software of canon.. i get the © from MSword. Go to format, insert symbol. Cut and paste it to your photo :)

you can also download watermarks from web.. they offer free trials and it's up to you if you want to buy it ....

RC,

What photo software do you use?

In Photoshop it is fairly easy.

1. Open your image and edit it to your hearts delight
2. Click in the Text Tool (letter T icon on the tool palette)
3. Click on the image
4. Type in youre signature and or copyright symbols (you can change the font and font size by using the tool options just below the menus) - You may need to reselect all the text you put in (Ctrl-A or Cmd-A) before changing fonts and sizes and colors etc
5. Position you text on the image where you want it. You may also want to do some text effects if thats your style
6. On the layers palette, make sute the etxt layer is selected and change the opacity to your liking try 30%
An you are done, you may now save your image for web or whatever output device you want.

You can also use an image as a watermark.

Best of all you can record this into an action. But recording that action is the subject of another topic.

Or .....you can just make a custom brush for your copyright signature in Photoshop. You can make your signature as big or as small as you want in a single stroke.

In the library mode, using the "Export" Function, there is a tickmark to flag if you want to include a Watermark. If you flag the tickmark, it exports the photos, say from Raw to jpeg/tiff with a very non-obstructive and watermark on the right edge of the photo.

The text on the watermark is derived from the "copyright" field of the metadata.

any ways to batch process photo signatures/watermarks? even with the record mode, one still has to individually paste each action per photo.

400++ photos.. it kinda gets into your fingers already..

@ Melvin Can we change the location of the watermark in lightroom ? Like in the middle of the picture or above ? Thanks

If you have a watermark file already try this one.
much better if you save your watermark at a .PNG file if you want to have some
invisible BG :) or search for some photoshop tutorial in the web :)

if you want to put a watermark in a batch process try to download this software
here is the link

http://download.cnet.com/FastStone-Photo-Resizer/3000-2192_4-10319476.html

"Fast Stone Photo Resizer" don't mind the name :p it has several functions
like batch process of watermarks, cropping, resizing etc.

have a great day :)

Hi, can you guys help me how to add the copyright symbol on photoshop CS4?

Thank you.

Hi Alvin, the copyright symbol is ALT 0169 in Windows, so if you're typing on a regular keyboard, hold down the ALT key on the left and do the numbers with the numeric keypad.

If you're working on a laptop this may not work, so you can use the Character Map feature instead. Just open Character Map from the Accessories group and select the copyright symbol, then click on copy. Go to your photoshop document and with the text tool active and placed on your image, go CTRL V or paste.

Of course what I said above would be useless if you're working on a MAC :D

Hi Alek, Google's Picasa 3 is free, easy to use and can attach a signature or watermark to your pics as your export or upload them. You can attach your signature manually through the Add Text feature OR you can set your preferences to automatically watermark your pictures with any text that you specify.

I'm having problem with my signature. I decided to record my actions so that I'll just press ctrl+f2 to place my signature for portait shots. Problem is, everytime I re-open my photoshop on some other day, playing the action would have different result. (like the signature will be too small and will out of place). I have a fixed dimension for pictures (1500 x 996). Anyone experienced this?

I just want to add that in photoshop you'll lose some exif data. I've seen it in viewnx bundled software of nikon. file info 2 and other data are missing after i've used photoshop.

Im currently using CS5 and so far i dont think i have lost exif data (particularly the more important ones) on photos i processed using photoshop. i also use the option "save as" more often as this will automatically include the exif info or if i use "save-to-web" there is an option to tick to save or not to save the or or some of the metadata files.

here is an example of a Point and shoot photo of my daughter taken last January and adjusted via CS5. the exif data is intact and can easily be seen via a plug in from firefox/IE

as for the subject of watermarking photos, its very subjective. at times it is very distracting particularly if placed in the center of the image, even a simple one placed at the corners would often tend to lead the viewers eyes onto it. sometimes i put a text within the photo, sometimes i dont and more often than not, if i do place it inside a photo, i tend to reduced its opacity so that it would not be too distracting.

What font are you using for you watermark?

Can you suggest a good simple font that can be found in lightroom so that i can directly choose that particular font without trying to check it one by one? too many fonts to choose from. coz in lightroom there's no sample font on how it looks like.

thanks
