Hi all,

I have this BG-E3 battery grip which allows interchanging the batteries of a DSLR camera from the standard NB2LH or 6 AA's, (alkaline, ni-cad, li-ion or lithium).

My query: anyone had the experience of running dry his NB2LH and using AA's instead?? Is it better? does it give a longer shooting time? I asked coz the current rating of the NB2LH is only 720mah, whereas there are AA's that now reach up to the 2500mah level. Though the working voltage would probably be a bit lower(7.2V) than the standard 7.4v of the battery pack since one cell just pumps out 1.2volts. But in the case of alkalines (1.5 volts) nga pala this would be equal to 9 volts!!! Would there any problems using these type of batteries (alkaline)with a 350D??

:Thinking:TIA

AAs work fine and serve their purpose as emergency back-ups. I would not recommend using them as primary power sources simply because 6 hi-cap Ni-Mh AAs + the Battery holder is much heavier than the 2 Li-ion packs + battery holder. :)

I haven't used AAs yet with my 30d. But I do keep a set of AAs and the battery clip handy for emergency purposes.
