hi,

i use to download my pictures using a cardreader. i find it very convenient because i can do it faster (drag n drop) and not worry about wearing out the socket in my camera.

when i installed the eos utility from canon, i like the feature of having the option to rename the files automatically (as they are downloaded). in particular, i really find automatically adding the date in the filename very handy and useful.

my question: is there a way to have the file renaming feature of eos utility when downlaoding using a cardreader? or is it possible to run the eos utility with a cardreader?

thanks

You can use software that does batch commands/processing.

Best way to find out is to ask our Canon experts - Tiff Shau or Ann Francisco (from Canon). From what I know, there is none. Reason being that the EOS system is activated by the hardware/camera itself.
