Carlo R. Lopez 12-11-2006, 12:20 PM for those already familiar with bjorn rorslett's article entitled. "need for speed" then this wpont come as a surprise, for those that dont this is mainly about shooting with large aperture lenses. these items were shot wide open at f1 no focusing.

thanks zandy. the background lighting is more important than the actual subject as it is the one that will ulitimately bring the foreground to life. hit and miss rate is a whopping 90% failure. 2/10 workable pics:Grin:

you are correct! i thought of the same thing a while ago.i in fact dabbled in photoshop and came out with 2 versions. will post in another thread.

eli this this is what i was telling you. i made the original image monochrome. used the clone tool to simulate snow being blown on the 4 ends of the fork. i then dodged the areas around the tips to bring out the silhouette of the "climbers" textured the white surface a bit and added 15deg motion blur to simulate a blizzrd.
