View Full Version : MARKET! MARKET! aka Palengke
Tammy_David 12-11-2006, 12:14 AM I took these photos one hot morning when I declared that it was a bad day. I was stuck in a rut and I needed a quick fix to get out of it.
The Palengke is my Manila Bay! How can you go wrong with the palengke? all the chaos and charm. I can practically smell the stench and hear all annoying market audio...I LOVE IT!
Here are some of mine so C&C and post some of yours!

Wrong speed but "Sa Piling Mo" was on TV. Screw Jude Law, Cambodians adore Kristine Hermosa ya know.

Tok Paler 12-11-2006, 12:42 AM great set Tammy! *kidding* =b
the light streaming down in the second photo is a keeper! but i wish i saw more of what was going on in the shadowed part IMO.
Tammy_David 12-11-2006, 12:47 AM @ raymondgayondato: No Manong Guards in the old market of Cambodia. YAY. I tried Edsa Central before and they mistakened me for Mrs. Campos (?) damn them for thinking I'm too old

I also liked that one, though it could have more impact if you move closer and lower to the lady eating something in a bowl. IMHO.:)
Aris Guerrero 12-11-2006, 08:19 AM love the market series tammy. when i saw the 1st pic, i thought it was in manila. :)

Tammy_David 12-11-2006, 10:10 AM @ Aris Guerrero: Thanks! Actually all palengkes look the same to me, diba?. So it was a challenge to take photos that will distinguish the Siem Reap Old market from the rest.
I wanted to include this because of the flag and headgear hehehe

Wow! It's perfect! I love the lighting on this scene with the smoke creating shafts of light. Has a National Geographic feel to it.

miguel_deleon 12-16-2006, 10:39 AM Ok, now that you mention it, maybe a higher angle would allow more "light rays" into the frame. Tipong stand on a chair more to the left.
