View Full Version : Mobile phones from Infomax Trinoma
Gurney Fermin 10-27-2009, 09:13 PM Infomax trinoma was robbed last Sunday noon. 6 items were taken together with the cabinet lock that was picked by the robbers. Apparently, at that time, only 2 personnel were only present there and they were overwhelmed by the sudden influx of customers. The items that were jacked are:
Samsung OMNIA i8910 (358741021955098 IMEI)
Samsung OMNIA i900 (355494023418409 IMEI)
HTC Touch 3G (354503020369679 IMEI)
HTC Touch Pro2 (358849020234447 IMEI)
HTC Touch VIVA (353443023872646 IMEI)
Garmin Asus G60 (352926030036826 IMEI)
Now, if you happened to come across with these items,or you know someone who is about to purchase these, please don't buy them and report it to authorities. PD No. 1612, the anti-fencing law prohibits anybody from re-selling or buying stolen goods/items. The said employees would be paying for those stolen items.
I am a patron of Infomax and I am informing everyone in their behalf.
Thanks.
David Tong 10-27-2009, 09:24 PM Wow, that's brave....
Interesting how they stole phones despite having much, much more expensive gadgets in the store...
Gurney Fermin 10-27-2009, 09:31 PM The iphone 3G was spared. Probably lack of time or because it is too expensive here as an open line phone (70+k) and would be very suspicious to others if they try to sell it cheap. The 6 said items boxes was left. Only the units themselves were taken.
Lei Sarmiento 10-28-2009, 03:02 AM David <-- Robbers go for faster resale I think. Our main door got busted and my bike was stolen years back and the robbers ignored the PC, LCD monitor and audio component. A friend's house also got robbed off 2 Nintendo Wii consoles. The robbers ignored the 2 laptops, a plasma screen tv and jewelries.
Wilfred_Chang 10-28-2009, 07:19 AM Robbers now are brave they will scout the mall for store to rob. Even malls now are not safe. This is what happen to Cubao Ali Mall the rubbers are caught by the CCTV camera.
Emmanuel Deoferio 10-28-2009, 08:55 AM Now that's odd, even with two personnel they could have noticed that someone is picking their locks since their floor area is not that big. I suspect those people who kept the personnel busy are in cahoots with the robbers.
benedictlaig 10-28-2009, 10:22 AM Using the IMEI, these can be blocked by the telecom companies right?
WilsonCo 10-29-2009, 12:35 PM Using the IMEI, these can be blocked by the telecom companies right? If they would even bother.
It pays to be extra careful during the "Ber" months. Merry Christmas! Ho! Ho! Holdup! :)

Even if the telecom companies blocked it. The buyers can still go to greenhills to unblocked it. :).

Ah... is it not easier for the authorities just to make these things illegal?

They do that by changing the IMEI of the said phone.
BUT, to do that... you need the proper tool & software... and the above mentioned phones are quite rare (compared to Nokia & SE). They might not have the jigs for those phones or connectors.
Best to have these reported to the NTC for blocking.
clarencecarino 11-14-2009, 07:02 PM but you know guys,
here in the uae, if someone stole your phone. just report it to the police with the imei and receipt. and they will trace it for you.
i had a friend here that left her phone in the CR, 5 mins later she went back and the phone was gone.
later they reported it to the police. and after more than 2 weeks i think. they found the suspects. and they discovered the phone was already on another country. but demanded to have it back and they did. but still they were punished
