No, the D200 stays topside. I'll probably get the aquatica housing for the D70s since the macro or wide angle port is already included in the package. I already have the lens, 12-24 and 105mm.
Thanks Norman, itlog maalat ata yan.
Bingle Padilla 02-17-2007, 06:09 AM nice shots!!!i am a frustrated scuba diver ...mom never allowed me before ...hmm...do you need to be certified to take underwater photos???guess so huh???caloy..is there a short session that i can go to dive and take photos at the same time???...i only know about the nikon school of underwater photography...but it cost $1,600 for six days is that worth it???...sorry to many questions...i am a new born child in photography especially slr once...oh well...i love your underwater photos!!!great piece of art!!!...can you give me some tips or advices??? thanks in advance ....hope i can do the same one day....
Gurney Fermin 03-16-2007, 05:46 PM hmm...do you need to be certified to take underwater photos???You first need to be a certified diver. Next, when you are proficient enough with your diving skills, then thats the time to add photography. Underwater photography is a bit harder than topside for there is a lot of things to consider.
joelhgarcia 03-16-2007, 05:59 PM Sir Caloy,
First time i saw your thread colorful! thanks for the tips and the PM's!
Regards,
Joel
caloy_samson 03-16-2007, 07:40 PM I thought this thread was already history...
Gurney, thanks for replying to Bingle. Your statement is very true....
Bingle, there's a man in the Island of Yap (Micronesia) his name is Mike Veitch and he teaches underwater photography. He taught me the basics of Topside photography and the underwater aspect of it. He does it for a living. Thanks for viewing and the comments.
Check out his website http://bigblueimages.com/
Sir Joel, hey thanks, my turf is so far away from the rail road tracks:D

Hi Norman,
Caloy's photo of a bubble coral is certainly unusual, but if you know what I know about corals, your appetite would quickly dissipate. Those roundish brown stuff on those bubbles are actually parasites that feed-off the mucous on the surface of marine animals. :( In short, that lovely piece of coral is someone else' lunch!
Still, its presence make this photo stand-out from the myriad of ordinary bubble coral photos out there.
Bobby Wong 03-17-2007, 08:48 AM What's the most practically-priced (balance between functionality, design, & price) housing for either the D70 or D200?
Jerry, you do NOT want an answer to that question! :D

levi lacandula 03-17-2007, 10:14 AM sheesh!!! i love your photos man!
makes one really want to drive to batangas and do a couple of dives.
solid work caloy!!
Bobby Wong 03-17-2007, 03:20 PM thanks Bobby....and yes them bubble corals is not your usual edible mix shashimi plate stuff :)
heheh...in fact, bubble corals have one of the most powerful stings of any large-polyp coral, more painful than the pretty brown Ancora in your other photo.
Your flickr photos showing several forms of symbiotic undersea animals are pretty cool too, I thought they looked like cover material, you should share them here too. Good work. Thanks.
Bobby
Gurney Fermin 03-18-2007, 12:25 AM What's the most practically-priced (balance between functionality, design, & price) housing for either the D70 or D200?
Just incase you have no idea about the cost, for that camera, you'll probably spend atleast :Scared:6 digits of moolah (175k-250k).
Mike Pak 03-19-2007, 11:19 PM Jerry, you do NOT want an answer to that question! :D
I just had to laugh at that one... good one Bobby!
