hi,

I noticed in my photos the other day that there's something dark, dirt-like on the lower left part (taken portrait). I noticed it in all photos.

Here's a sample.. circled in red (cropped it already)

Would that be dust in my sensor? I checked the lens and didnt see any dust or dirt. Although of course I'm a newbie so not sure if things like that can be seen by the naked eye :)

Thanks!!

If it is consistent in the photos iregardless of the lens used, then yes to me it looks like a nasty dust spec in your sensor. Have it cleaned professionally asap if you dont know how to clean it yourself.

hi angelo..

i agree with m'pilar. if it is consistent with your other photos then you should have it cleaned the soonest. why don't you try to take a photo of a white hanky/ table.. and if it turned out consistent everytime, then that a dirt inside your camera.

my friend actually noticed it and had his camera cleaned at nikon. and it cost php2,500.. whew.. not scaring you or anything..

it does look like dust. do the usual sensor dust test - mirror lock, 30 s shutter, wide open, white color wall or something...then while shutter is open move camera left right up down etc...then check the pic...if that black thing is still there then it's dust on your sensor...

what you can do is use a blower first to try to take it out...if it doesn't come off then you can either do the cleaning yourself with sensor swabs or have it cleaned professionally...:D

sir jo avila said that what you can do is..

1) move an arms length distance from a light surface (preferably a white wall)
2) blur the focus of your cam (i.e. set it to infinity)
3) shoot in bulb.. or just long enough for you to move the camera (as if panning)

if the dirt is still there..then it's time to clean your image sensors.

hope this helps!

I do cleaning for only 1K.

Any dSLR model.

We do not leave the table until your sensor is cleaned. :D And as an added value, I share my tips on how to do it so you can decide to have it cleaned yourself next time.
