Here we go again another solid issue of DPP. For our 27th Issue we have added a new feature in our magazine called Improve Your DSLR Skills. Inside we take a photography hack--someone like say Lloyd San Diego, a self-professed Landscape photographer, and have him shoot beside a seasoned glamour and wedding photographer to see how good his skills are in a different environment. We give you solid fundamentals, tips, tricks, and other useful information to take with you for your next photography assignment.

In this issue, we also give you a lot more. Things lke our Location Guide on shooting Davao. How about some advice if you think a company has used your image without your approval? We got you covered in this issue.

DPP #27 will be delivered to us tomorrow. It will be on the magazine stands before the end of the month.

We were promised a July 28 delivery but our printer only started delivery yesterday, August 2. We don't yet have our entire order and our copies are coming in batches. Complete delivery should be done by Thursday this week. We apologize for this delay.

DPP is published every 45 days so we're more or less within our schedule since the last issue came out on June 17. You guys will like #27- it's a fun read.

Someone was asking if the cover was Christina Garcia. No its not. The beautiful lady is Karen Lima. Pretty in pictures and even more stunning in person.

How does one subscribe?
For the longest time, I have not subscribed to any print media, as I have come to believe that everything is available online, and that ultimately they become trash in my house, already bursting apart from textbooks and technical manuals.

I already saw this issue in MIO Shangri-la

Just a question to the mods and admins - are there stores that DON'T carry DPP? I ask because I think I remember reading someplace that there are stores where DPP isn't available? Also so I don't have to waste effort and time going to these places. Thanks!

National Bookstore doesn't carry DPP. My guess is that they're known for taking a big chunk of the Retail Price and that doesn't fit with Nick's business model.

I suggest youse guys subscribe. Then you just wait for the delivery. Aside from the discount due to the subscription, you save on transportation costs. For me, this offsets the late deliveries. :)

But finally, finally! I managed to get myself a copy at Mio Podium. Another great issue! Congrats to all the staff! I was just a bit "bitin" with regards to the guide for newbies, but overall, no regrets shelling out a hard-earned 300 for this issue.

I published a calendar for 2009 as a fund-raising activity. Powerbooks takes 40% of the SRP (suggested retail price); I guess National Bookstore also takes the same cut as they are sister companies.
Plus, ang dami-daming hinihingi na requirements and even a BIR license for a fund-raising activity!!

this guy somehow expresses the theme "Help Improve my DLSR skill" could have been a good cover with the theme that is carried in #27. It is amusing and entertaining, a 90 degree turn from the formal portraits of former covers. Much like a 'wacky shot'.

The new section is really great! Is there a UK publication of this mag as well? Parang I have read a column like that before. Its really a great addition to the best magazine in the Philippines.

-The 24-70mm 2.8 looked mighty fine around the neck of Ms. Pilar Tuason. And looked too darn heavy when mounted on Mr. Lloyd San Diego's dslr. hehehe

Jeric, you can buy it in any mag stand in malls like Filbar's. You can also subscribe, I think you will get 2 free issues every year if I'm not mistaken.:)

newbie here.... i just got my very 1st dslr...nikon d3000... i guess the best camera for a beginner like me..hope so... my first assignment is to shoot for JS prom... i need some tips on how to take great but simple pics for JS prom.. do i have to concentrate on auto? i don't have yet an external flash..is that alright just by using the built-in flash of my camera?or what are the basic settings for night affair like JS.. i wud appreciate ur help very much... i'll also be doing a day photo shoot for a beauty pageant candidates here in our school i'm very eager to have a great shots on my 1st project...God bless....
