Love the 1st and 3rd bud... Just like you, my main subject is my son as well. One thing that caught my eye with your pics (including the glass) is the white balance setting, they all seem to be a bit orangy in cast. Not sure if it's intentional.

Hi Sir, thanks for the input. Actually none of that was intentional, it sorta just came out that way because I was trying to learn how my gear works.

I have halogen track lighting in the house and for the glasses, I set the white balance to tungsten. Not sure if that was the right move, but is the orange cast distracting?

As for the photos above, WB was set at sunlight for the first two photos and shade for the third. It was shot in a room with the blinds drawn and with the orange afternoon sun shining through.
