The busy rotando on the way to pasig simbahan is a good location. During summer, the sun sets this magical orange lights there in that place. plus, there is a near bridge there for the marikina river. The sun glows there.

The first EB is just to know the group, where are your strong points in photography, style or genre, etc etc. We will then soon plan a shoot.

I just had a talk with Sir Bernard and it seems it's just the 2 of us meeting tom. so we've decided to call it off and schedule it for another week. Also told him that next week end I'll be joining a local tour group goin to Ilocos (apirl 29 up to may 2)...while there I'll break-in my camera as you know I'm just a beginner...trial and error method...hehehe:Grin:

So it's final TOMORROW's EB is CANCELLED!!! :(

For those who have already joined and previously attended the PPN meetings, I would encourage you to be active in the discussions (both on line and during meetings) as we are in the process of formalizing the PPN group, as well as our objectives and policies, and its by laws. We shall also be discussing photography related activities and events in which we shall be representing ourselves as members of PPN.

If you have a Facebook account, search for the Pasig Photographers Network and join the group. Also, the org meets every 1st and third Saturday of the week at the Pasig City museum. We have a meeting on the 19th, at 2 pm if you are free, you can drop by and get to meet the members of the Org.

As for the requirements of joining the group, well the most important would be that you should have the passion for the art of Photography. We also encourage the members to be very much involved with the Org's activities, as it's with these activities that we get to improve our skills, and also get to know the other members. :)

First and foremost, english only, as per forum rules ;)

Second, the Pasig Shutter Bugs holds meetings every first and third saturdays of the month, at the Pasig City Museum. Yes, the next meeting will be on April 2, 2011.

For the benefit of everyone, the Pasig Shutter Bugs is a formal organization of photography enthusiasts in Pasig City. It's not just that we do EB and shoot, but the thrust of the group is for each and every member to learn and live the passion of photography within ourselves. So, every first saturday of the month, the more experienced members share their knowledge in their particular field in photography, so that the newbies can learn and hopefully practice (The activities for the entire year has been mapped out) . We also encourage each member to join in the monthly photo contest, as that's the only way for us to practice the hobby. Monthly photo contests are held every third Saturday of the month. Photo sharing sessions are also conducted, as we want each member of the group to share his/her photos, and talk a bit on its background and the reasons why you took that shot.

Every month, we also do a roadtrip, as there are a lot of places to explore. The Shutter Bugs recently had completed it's second roadtrip, by visiting five lakes (supposedly eight lakes) inside Laguna, from sunrise to sunset. There will be a few more roadtrips scheduled within the year, and as a member, you will be encouraged to join these roadtrips (the roadtrips are not to be missed ;) ).

And yes, there are instant "photo ops" sessions scheduled every now and then ;)

If you are really interested in joining and activitely participate in the activities of the Shutter Bugs, then hope to see you this Saturday. And don't be shy, we photographer's shouldn't be :) Also, we do not distinguish a DSLR from a rangefinder or from a P&S, for as long as the passion of photography is within you, you take images of what you see with any camera on hand.

If you are interested in joining and you have a facebook account, do a search on "Pasig Shutter Bugs". Do introduce yourself first and that you are also Pasig City resident.

Meetings are scheduled every first and third Saturdays of the month, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Pasig City museum. A meeting is scheduled for April 16, 2011, but since this coincided with the Aliwan festival, the group will be meeting at the Aliwan festival venue.

The next meeting after the 16th will be on May 7, 2011.

The Bugs will be having its first anniversary celebration on May 21, 2011, so if you guys want to join the group, your attendance is once of the requisites :) Last week, Mon Corpuz did a talk on shooting festivals. However, we have yet to finalize the June 4 scheduled meeting as this coincides with the DPP anniversary as well, and I'm sure majority of the club members will want to go to the DPP anniversary.

OK. The meeting was relocated to the Tanghalang Pasigueño last Saturday as the Museum was used for another event. (The Tanghalan was the only other place that has a conference room and projector that we can use)

I will advise membership and our secretary. If you have and FB account, look for the Pasig ShutterBugs. Indicate in your message that you went to the Museum last saturday so membership can accomodate your request.

We will have a special meeting + photoshoot on July 30, but the venue may not be at the Museum as this will be a club initiated photoshoot.

Kindly maintain posting in English language coz not only filipinos visit this forum.
And also this is stated in DPP's rules.

Anyway, back to your question, I don't think there's a bnew DSLR for only 20K.
Even the old model EOS1000D goes for about 23K if i'm not mistaken.
What I suggest you to do is save some more moolah then purchase a 600D at least.
Just google it's features, i'm sure it will fit you best.

We'll be scheduling an orientation on the membership and activities of the Pasig Shutter Bugs this Sunday, November 20, 2011, 2:00 PM at the Pasig City Museum. Hopefully, we can also schedule a photowalk around the area (plaza rizal, Sta. Rosa de Lima, Bagong Ilog) if time permits and if it does not rain :)
