To all DPP Members,

I am listing here the schedule and list of activities for our upcoming DPP 3rd Year Anniversary Party.

Date: Sat / June 27
Venue: Fully Booked High Street
Time: Open 10:00 am / Finish 12:00 midnight (WOW!)

Schedule: 10:30 am to 7:00 p.m. Free Workshops
8:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m Live Judging
9:00 p.m. to 12:00 Midnight Party

About Fully Booked:
We will be occupying for the entire day three venues / lecture rooms in Fully Booked. 1. The Basement 2. The 4th Floor , and 3. Top Shelf on the fifth floor. The Basement is like a 60-seater theater so workshops with slide show presentations will be held here. The 4th Floor will have 20 Intel Powered computers set up for our Photoshop classes. All our Photoshop classes will be held here. If the computers are taken, you can also bring your own laptop or just sit in and watch the lecture. Top Shelf is at the 5th Floor and will be the venue for workshops, live shoot, and displays by our sponsors.

What to Expect:
A whole day affair. Workshops start at 10:30 a.m. and continue all the way to 7:00 p.m. simutaneously on the three different lecture rooms listed above. After the lectures we will be having a LIVE JUDGING of the Top 10 images of our photo contest. This should not be missed by anyone as it will be really fun and also very educational.

After LIVE JUDGING we will go into our DPP ANNIVERSARY PARTY that will be sponsored by BACARDI (Only good booze in DPP!) For sounds we have hired a good band that will perform in a ROCK-EOKE setup. For those of you who do not know how this works, just imagine KARAOKE but done with a Live Band and infront of all your fellow DPP Members. Its the perfect topper for our Rock Issue.

Raffles and Goody Bags:
There will be raffle prizes given out throughout the entire day from our sponsors. Don't expect things like DSLRS to be raffled, but our sponsors have pledged some nice products. CANON PHILIPPINES and NIVEA have already pledged 300 Goody Bags for the event.

Registration and Entrance:
NO ENTRY without a DPP PARTICIPANT PASS that comes included in every issue of DPP #26. This applies the same to subscribers. You must have your PARTICIPANT pass or you will not be allowed to attend the free Lectures or our Party. The rule is ONE PASS PER PERSON. If you bring a wife, friend, mistress, or whatever, that means you need to have a pass for that person as well. Registration will be done at the Fully Booked Customer Service area in the Ground Floor. We will have our staff there where you will register for your workshops, receive a list of what room each class will be held, receive your Goody Bag, and fill in a raffle stub. The first 300 registered participants will receive Goody Bags. Once supplies run out we won't be replenishing.

Workshops:
We will be restricting each Participant to Three (3) Workshops for the day unless there is an empty slot and then the empty slot will be filled by first come first served. When you register you will be listing down the workshops that you want to attend. Once the class starts, we will double check if there are any empty seats and will then fill those seats with anyone waiting. Again, you will need a pass to enter the workshoops. NO PASS NO ENTRY.

Ces,

Not true. My post says that if you are a subscriber you should be bringing your pass to the event. Don't forget your passes otherwise you won't be able to attend. There will be too much going on that day that we won't be able to try and monitor subscribers or non-subscribers.

For everyone its very simple. Inside every DPP is a Participants Pass. Keep it and bring it with you to the event.

EDIT: Nick, an additional suggestion: For potentially in-demand workshops, like the one that will be handled by that reputedly (and, admittedly) beautiful lady named Pilar, may they have a mirror session in those time slots where there are more rooms available (e.g., 10:30am TO 1:00pm time slots)? hehehe. Just exploring....

Whew! The thread Ive been waiting for is here already... day and night monitoring hehe

Grabe! Fully Booked is Fully Loaded on Sat.
I want to attend on all workshops listed but I have to choose only 3 :)

Is there a separate list for waiting participant? :D

example:

I listed my name to my 1st 3 workshops choices, can I list my name to the other workshops as waiting participant? So that if there are still vacant seats on that particular workshop, Im on the priority list already :D (but i guess, there would be no vacant seats) sa dami ng aatend...

If this is not possible, I'll just sit in or stand in to the other workshops? Hope there still space coz Im pretty sure that all of these lectures will become standing room also :)

I'm excited na!

See you on Sat!

Hi to all DPP Members!

Can you tell me how to go to Fully Booked High Street when i'm from QC?
To get to the venue from QC: take the South Bound MRT and alight at the Guadalupe station. You need to walk towards Jollibee but be sure to turn left before reaching it. It's a really busy street so you have to be alert. From there you should begin to see jeepneys that will take you to Market Market. Take any of those jeepneys. The ride is about 20 minutes and you only have to pay minimum fare. From Market Market, you will have to walk towards Serendra and then Fully Booked. You can ask around for directions once you've reached Market Market :)

What I usually do when I don't feel like taking the jeepney or walking is take a cab from Guadalupe. The fare would be around P80.

anyone knows how long it takes to clean a DLSR sensor by canon experts?

Because if it will take a whole day, while everyone willing to participate for the photo contest that would be a conflict.

Note to everyone that there will NOT be a live photo contest on this day. We have another photo contest thread where the best photos will be printed and be part of our LIVE JUDGING event that happens after the Workshops.

We encourage everyone to join our Photo Contest. Winning prize is priceless BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR ONE YEAR.

About the dress code:

Dress Code:
We are going to be implementing a dress code for our Anniversary Party. The attire is Casual Chic (no shorts, slippers, or sandals will be allowed). Dress to Impress because this is a DPP event and you should all be proud to be DPP Members.

Are Tshirt + Jeans + Chucks considered casual chic or not quite there yet? Or it should be colarred shirt or more..?

Here's a close-up of Boni High, courtesy of kabeet.com.

As you may see, the parking spaces around the promenade are marked by a letter P that is inscribed within a yellow circle.

Definition for a Blazer:
A blazer is a type of single breasted coat (http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/coat_definition.htm), closely related to a suit (http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/suit_definition.htm) jacket (http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/jacket.htm). Generally, it differs from a suit (http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/blazer.htm#) jacket in that the buttons are usually metallic, and the outer material generally more durable. They occur most often in blue colors, but blazers of other colors are not unheard of. They are included often in uniforms (http://www.apparelsearch.com/Definitions/Clothing/uniforms_definition.htm) of civilian bodies, such as airlines, boys schools (http://www.apparelsearch.com/education_schools_fashion.htm), yacht clubs, and private security organizations.

Ces,

Keep it and bring it with you to the event.

hi Carmie!
the nearest terminal is at Market! Market! where The Fort buses, fx and jeepneys bound for EDSA (or Pasig, Sucat, Guadalupe, Bicutan, etc) are parked. There are also these small green-orange tricycles that can be found anywhere around the venue, though I think they won't take you as far as EDSA. Best move is to go to the bus and jeepney terminal at Market! Market! which is, like, 5 minutes walk from Fully Booked

Questions are getting stranger and stranger. But do keep them coming, we all want to make this party a success!

For the question above, I think it's only fair that you sign up only if you're physically there. Otherwise, people who sign up but don't show up will rob others (who are there) of the opportunity to attend the sessions.

Sir, if we arrived there ealier than 10AM, since Fully Booked is still close, is there a DPP/Fully Booked staff to assist fall-in-line policy?:):D I'm afraid to miss my desired lectures due to over flowing participants waiting outside of Fully Booked...just want to anticipate things :D
Hope it will be "first come, first serve and first to list basis" hehe

TIA

Good question Marlon. We won't play police outside the doors of Fully Booked. We hope you members of DPP are courteous to each other and respectful. Once the door opens our registration will be at the Customer Service area and we will have a few people there to assist.

Those who posted on the list on a different thread here doesn't mean you have "reservations". Our event is strictly first-come-first-served and we ask that everyone be polite to each other.

I still see a few copies of the issue # 26 at booksale store, basement level here in Megamall

Thanks Jon! I finally got my "PASS"! Yey! See you all on Saturday! Wohoo! Cheers!

By the way, there are also a few copies left at Podium at the ground floor near the elevators.

We were planning to do this but there is one catch.....Fully Booked is a retail store so we cannot sell inside their premises. So unfortunately, we don't have a DPP Shirt even though people are clamoring for it.

Then maybe DPP can still sell the shirts after the event.:)

It would have been nice too if there was a talk on concert photography ...especially since that's this issue's cover story...:)....still, I'm pretty stoked about tomorrow...

If our Rockeoke goes off as planned, you may actually have the chance to photograph a "live" concert. :)
