For how much? I'll send my 10D.

roughly around 300Usd..
that depends also in what version you want...mine is ver.5
Ver.3 should be around 420USD.

Ver 3 = Pure Infrared
Pitch Black Skies
Leaves are transparent White
Skintones are pale
Good for Landscapes..

Ver 5 30% = IR +40% Visible Light + 30% UV
Blue Skies
Yellow Leaves
skintone is 80% Normal
Good for Portraits and Landscapes.

this is so interesting but expensive... how does it fair compared to IR-filter-shot photos?

nice IR shots, by the way.

How much to have a D70 modified? I'm planning to sell it, but converting it to a real IR camera instead of buying IR filter may be a more worthwhile endeavour!

Ruel Tafalla
11-22-2006, 04:56 PM
@dindin...I tried using filters last time...min exposure is 20secs and it's very grainy..now its faster, Easier in Composition...and more better contrasty images...It's money well spent..you wont regret it..:)

@Jerry, I have no idea for the price of Modifying Nikon Cameras...i guess it should be the same as canon's price.

@Alex I was using a Hoya R72.

Absolutely astonishing IR shots you have there Ruel! The tones are amazing! :)

Ruel Tafalla
11-22-2006, 08:33 PM
@Joel. Mas mura nga...siguro depende sa camera...wala ako idea sa sg

@Ryan, Yes the can but it wont be the same as a 30D or a 5D...less contrast daw..Near Manga Dua Square, Gunung Sahari Jakarta...are you familiar with the place?

@Orlando, Thanks.. :)

Great series, Ruel! :)

I guess the conversion of the Nikon D70 is cheaper because it actually performs very well even with just the IR filter unlike the Canon bodies. I read about this in another forum. Just sharing... :)

@Rosalie, Thanks for viewing..
Actually the price depends on the Body..Here in Jakarta the more expensive the body, the more exx the conversion price...It's the Insurance he is giving. .. If he screwed your camera he would replace it with a new one....do u know that if you convert a 1Dsmk2 the price is almost 4x the 30d conversion.. :)

It also depends with the Filter Size...full frame sensors vs 1.3 and 1.6 Sensors..

And back to a more traditional one;

I was really scared that my purchase would end up a white elephant because of the stories I read how aggressive the low pass filter of D80s and D200s are.
