My Basic Photography Students are familiar with a brand of inkjet canvas I use at the studio. The inkjet canvas is used to print the images of a few lucky students.

[Those who have attended my seminar know what kind of luck is involved to get their photo assignment printed on inkjet canvas.]

I purchased a batch of inkjet canvas last year. But that stock was nearly depleted a couple of months ago. I had the opportunity to replenish my stock during a recent trip abroad. I purchased a year's supply.

There were a couple of problems I encountered with the latest batch of canvas. I noticed that its base white color was different from last year's batch. I initially thought that I was wrong. But I had purchased the same brand and type of inkjet canvas.

I just got back from my studio a couple of hours ago. My Datacolor PrintFix Pro is stored at my studio. I had also left at the studio the color targets that I had printed on the new batch of inkjet canvas.

The images below prove that I was right. The white grid represents the color gamut of last year's batch of inkjet canvas. The colored portion represents the color gamut of this year's batch of canvas.

Yup, the difference in the base white color did make a difference :D
