I'm planning to buy a striplight (softbox) and I'm confronted with the following sizes:

30 x 60cm
30 x 90cm
40 x 120cm
40 x 180cm
60 x 120cm

Which size should I get and why? TIA

im using 15x124cm by visatec which i regularly use. as for your choices i'd go with the 40x120 which is not too big and not too narrow.

Just curious, when would you use a strip light as opposed to a regular sized softbox?

this will keep your light focus on the subject when using it on portrait shoot. while this will add dramatic effects on product shoot.

Thanks Cris. I guess for portraits, you would use it to only light part of the subject?
