Please also consider that you are buying into a system whenever you purchase a DSLR. You also have to think about service and product support and availability of accessories and lenses so that your system can grow along with your needs.

Ako naman in "abang mode" din until 3rd quater 2007 until Pentax releases all it's new SSM high speed motor equipped lenses (marked DA*).

Thanks! If it's any consolation, the K10D won't beat the low noise, high-ISO shooting of your 30D. It's good, but noise handling of the 30D is better in my opinion. A good thing is, the K10D's noise is a lot like film noise. :Grin:

I don't see to much difference from JPEG and DNG that I've shot. I quite like how there isn't too much sharpening. I'm shooting at default sharpness right now.

So far, I have no regrets whatsoever. Me = Happy camper. :Grin:

From what I gather from the DPReview forum, the soft jpegs appear only when you use the "natural" mode - they're much sharper (and can be sharpened thru in-camera settings) when in "bright" mode. This is supposedly by design, it's just that DPReview uses the camera's default mode ("natural" setting in the case of the K10D) in their tests. I've seen the user test shots, and don't see any problems at all. If anything, my problem is how to unload some equipment to get a K10D ;-)

Finally, please bear in mind:

I am still fairly new to exposure and the metering system as I was constantly using the Digital Preview function (with Histogram and blinkies) to get good enough exposure for these shots.

My hands are shaky after all those years of drafting and cadd.

Most here would probably have gotten better photos with the K10D in this situation. :S

Now for that Banding, Stranding ekek that so many users at DPR made so much fuss about.

Yes, there is banding, but only in High-ISO and grotesquely under exposed images also seen in other cameras.
