A call for EB for all Nikon D60 users has been made! Here is the list of Nikonians who have pledged (interest) to join (depending on the date):

The list above is what we have as of 16 May 2009.

The actual date and venue is yet to be announced (TBA). We are open to suggestions!

(excited na me!:D) hope to those who signed up, come June, we'll have the chance to meet na! keep the dice rolling!

@kris, aldrich, others, help naman.. hobbyist lang ako.:D if there's anyone here who has experience on organizing EBs, mind helping us out so it will be more organized? thanks in advance!:)

true, the guards do tend to be over vigilant when they see dslrs. that happened to a group i was with when we did a photo-walk there.

our solution back then? move a block further down and start shooting again.:D
since it's a photo-walk, the guards can't be in every corner of intramuros at the same time.:)

On the contrary, my husband and I went there on Mother's day weekend and even the guards posed gamely for us. Fort Santiago only requires permits if you're doing a pre-nup or model shoot. When we were there we saw photographers left and right and nary a guard within sight.

Best time would be early morning, as soon as Fort Santiago Opens, or even a bit before, so the light will be good, and if any of us has anywhere else to go to on that day, the afternoon can be free.

hey team!!! i wanna join too, preferably on June 7 sunday. i may be available in the morning of June 6 but not 100% sure. Intramuros is also what i have in mind, i think its a great place to start with, for meet-and-greet and of course the most awaited photowalk afterwards. BTW, just curious, do we need to secure a photoshoot permit?

for alternative venues, here are my suggestions: UP Diliman, UST, nearby zoos (manila zoo, malabon zoo, Parks and wildlife Nature Center near Quezon City Circle), night shoot in a famous cemetery preferably at full moon :Shock::Shock::Shock: hehehe kidding :)

this will be my first time to shoot with you fellow DSLR users so im really looking forward to it na :D:D:D

If I'm not mistaken, there's a tacit agreement that it's going to be Fort Santiago, which opens at 8am. We can meet either at the gate just outside the Fort, or inside at the coffee shops to the left, just past the ticket gate and guardhouse.

Rye and Aldrich, what do you say? Kris (our EB Master of DiPP) early morning's the best, got that tip from you :)

Josh Acosta was first to suggest an EB this year. (http://www.digitalphotographer.com.ph/forum/showpost.php?p=654887&postcount=2372) :)

Donnil Daguno and Mond Gonzales picked up on it a few posts later. And then Andy Rodriguez, and then Rye Delara made the official call to EB. Aaron Rivera followed up, and then Francis Cayetano. Even Darwin Villanueva up in Baguio wants one, and has "invited" us for a shoot :D

Ephraim Joel Sanchez expressed interest, and so did Aldrich Arcilla, Richard Romano, Kris Calim (my fellow DiPP member), Julia Chan, AJ Ordonez, Leonard Ray Leonardo, Xtian Cruz and the ball hasn't stopped rolling yet :D

Come on guys, let's get the EB finalized first ... are we all in agreement of the following?

1. Since there are almost as many June 6'ers as there are 7'ers, there is a strong possibility that there will be TWO scheduled EB's.

2. Best place to meet is Fort Santiago in Intramuros. For those who have not been inside Fort Santiago yet, there is a P75.00 entrance fee per head.

3. If there's a problem with the entrance fee for anyone we can meet at the fountain in front of the Manila Cathedral and then go for a photowalk around Intramuros. There's this fantastic place just past the San Agustin Church (or was it before, coming from the Manila Cathedral) where there's this empty lot with artful graffiti adorning the walls. Great photo op there, not to mention all the old houses we will be seeing.

Reactions ... more suggestions ... we got two and a half weeks to be creative! :D

I like to start the day with coffee first, get to know each other then do a shoot. Bam will not be able to make it on the 6th, she has appointment(hopefully, me too.:Grin:)

When my husband and I were at the Fort Santiago on Mother's day weekend, I had my D60 hanging 'round my neck and got nothing but smiles and nods from the guards.

We also passed several pro(-looking) photogs with their beercans and manfrottos just shooting happily away. We were even allowed to shoot inside the museums, but were requested to not use flash so as not to disturb the other tourists with guides.

Location shooting, pre-nups and commercial shoots need permits (http://www.intramurosadministration.com), but regular tourists and kids like you and me :D are ok.

We just need to behave ourselves :Grin:

Aldrich, there are parking spaces just outside the Fort Santiago. Unless there is a scheduled event inside the Fort itself, it doesn't get filled up even on weekends.

I agree. Let's not limit ourselves to what we can shoot inside the Fort Santiago, let's do the walled city itself! :) I've been trying to find a map large enough that we can all print for an Intramuros photowalk.

Of course this may take the better part of the morning. :)

Since this is a First EB (Meet and Greet, Experiences and Tips sharing) we can start with a leisurely tour of the Fort, led by Julia. Then if everyone else is up to it, let's have an early lunch somewhere and then do the Intramuros tour.

But wait... Julia signed up for the 6th ... who will be our guide on the 7th? :(

Venue, still to be finalized, but leaning heavily on Fort Santiago.

Looks like there's going to be 2 EB's with the way things are going, with our Grand D60 users meeting finally happening on the 27th, at the DPP Anniversary Bash :)

No deadlines for confirming oi :D

However, what we do need is a main contact person for June 6 and another for June 7. These main persons are who the attendees will text to say they're at the venue na, or late ng konti, or not showing up at all.

When we had our DiPP eyeball everything was so well-coordinated by Kris Calim (applause). I wish we can be as organized as that EB was.

I'm volunteering to be main contact person for June 7 -- any volunteers for June 6? As of now I do not have a celphone but I will by the 30th, and I will PM the June 7 signers 3 days before the EB with my number.

For the June 6 EB, where is the meeting place? i'm not quite familiar with intramuros so directions will be greatly appreciated :-)

And also, can we accept walk in d60 users? I've invited my officemate for the June 6 EB but I'm not quite sure if he can register in time because of the nature of his work.

I don't drive, so all the times I've been to the Fort Santiago is via taxi from Paranaque. On Roxas Blvd, just keep going straight towards North Harbor, passing the Luneta and the Manila Hotel. I've edited this map from the Letran website (apologies to all from Letran) in hopes of drawing a better picture of how to get to the Fort Santiago.

The blue line traces the path we usually take coming from Roxas Blvd. The first big red circle is the Main Entrance.

There is also an entrance from the Taft Avenue side, just before you get to the golf course, but I don't know how to come in from there because it's usually where we exit :D

hi john! its not a "patagisan ng galing" or so.. its just a photowalk where we all could learn tips and tricks from others. Why dont you come and join us? its a friendly photowalk, no OPs whatsoever.. I myself dont know anyone here personally, but impositive i will when we get together on the EB. Theres no newbie, amateur or pros.. and think of it as an opportunity where you can bring out your cam without hesitation and shoot! its just a plain photowalk.. shoot lang ng shoot!

Thanks Rye, actually its one of the things I plan to do. Medyo hesitant lang po ng kaunti kasi its a lil early and I would be just gettin off from work and dipa sapat ang gear heheh, i only have the kit. No filters, tripods and stuff.. I'll try na lang po, if ever I dont have work that day I'll tag along... the contact person is the TS I suppose?
