Jo Avila 05-06-2009, 01:12 AM Where do you guys develop your black and white pictures? I mean does it require a special kind of paper or ink? I usually print my own digital b&w images either on my Canon Pixma Pro9000 or Pro9500. Admittedly, the Pro9500 produces a superior b&w inkjet print compared to the Pro9000. Cheers! Jo Avila David Tong 05-06-2009, 07:45 AM You can have it done by Digiprint for photo-paper prints and Bella Luce if you want fine-art paper prints. bernard billedo 05-07-2009, 04:56 PM Digital black and white printing is usually a hit and miss with photo labs in the Philippines so your best option is Bella Luce as David suggested. Most high-end desktop printers now have 3 shades of black for true black and white printing (matte black or photo black, light black, light light black) in addition to the color cartridges. If you will be doing a lot of black and white printing, and want true black and white prints, I suggest you get a secondhand Epson A3 desktop printer (e.g. 1800, 2100/2200), and install a CIS system with dedicated black and white inks from Piezography, MIS, Mediastreet, or Lyson. A lot of these inks work well with a variety of archival paper and media which gives you a lot to play with if you're aiming for a certain look and feel to your black and white images. Jo Avila 12-04-2009, 04:59 PM Hi Guys, What type of paper is best in printing black and white images? Luster paper? etc? Thanks. How do you want the image to look? Your choice of paper affects how the image will look once printed. Cheers! I'm interested to know how or where to send photos for printing (can it be done electronically?), what type of papers are available, possible print sizes, requirement with regards to the minimum number of B&W prints, pricing and delivery.
