View Full Version : where to get white acrylic sheets?
Carlo R. Lopez 11-18-2006, 06:40 PM guys do any of you know where i can get these? better yet can anyone give me advice on how to make my own product shots table? nothing fancy i just want one with a highly reflective white surface. ive tried using cartolina but would prefer acrylic. thanks
jerrytieng 11-18-2006, 07:09 PM Easy way would be to get the 10,000 light table from Aperture Trading. Hard way would be to buy a 4x8 acrylic sheet then make your own table. Lighting requires at least three strobes (imho) to get that clean all white effect - bottom, top, and front. I ordered mine from downtown for less then 2T. Let me go dig up the number when I get home. Am stuck in traffic. :(

jerrytieng 11-19-2006, 07:20 AM That's the same one! Buy the thinnest - 1/8" ata so it's easier to bend.
KiX Santos 11-19-2006, 08:24 AM try McDonells at sta. cruz near the RECTO station LRT...
there are a row of stores infront of the old Arrangque market at RECTO Ave., a few minutes after sta. cruz.
What I did for my product table is an old study table...
then installed the acrylic on it...
Carlo R. Lopez 11-20-2006, 12:36 PM was able to get from 1/5" satin acrylic white from chan c bros. they even custom cut me as per my size. thanks for the comments guys
jerrytieng 11-20-2006, 01:26 PM Hmm.. if I may chime in - they charge a bit more, but I find that their workmanship is better. I had a couple of acrylic drop boxes made last month and they were perfect.
Rolando Avecilla 11-20-2006, 02:01 PM Do they have black colors?
Aris Guerrero 11-20-2006, 02:18 PM can anyone give an idea/estimate for a large panel? 1/16" 1m x 1m white?

well the sheet costs around 500-1200 depending on what size you get. the frames will depend on what material and fastening method you intend to use
Rosscapili 11-21-2006, 09:31 AM I suggest every time you use the plexi glass wrap it up with cloth or bubble wrap, you can find it clean only during your first use, duon sa mga scratches naiiwan ang dumi...it's practical for starter, but in the long run it is much cheaper to buy from Letty of 24k in Hidalgo, i got mine for 12t complete with dismantable table and the matt finish acrylic- i guess the DIY in Binondo is glossy, and this will affect your shots. Unless you spray it with glare removal non-permanent fixative.
My two cents:)
