Hi Guys,

We are now accepting entries for Issue 26 of Digital Photographer Philippines:

1. This upcoming issue's theme is EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY. From birthdays, to weddings to even concerts or club gigs, as long as it's an event. As always, show us something different and interesting. We'll put you in the magazine. .
2. You can submit up to three entries.
3. Wait for the gallery to be created where you can post your images.
4. If we contact you because we want to see your image, you will have three days to give us your file. It also doesn't mean you are automatically in the mag because of file quality issues or space restrictions.
5. Deadline for posting your image in the gallery is April 29.

That's exactly the personal challenge -- to look for an event to crash into this weekend. :):):)

hey guys,

question. how does one's photo make it to the cover? do you choose it here in the gallery? i'm not familiar with the process, just curious. :D

if its damn good and we see that its relevant to the theme, we normally contact you about it. unlike other magazines, we don't put blurred photos as covers. we really really sit down and debate about it (to some extent fight) on our choices for the cover.

i see. because i was looking for the gallery of issue #25 and it says macro, instead of the topic relating to the IR issue (Invisible Light). that made me wonder.

i see. if you check out issue 25, there are three main topics. the readers gallery may or may not be the source of the cover.

Given your concept /theme, B&W, monotone or color is acceptable? Wouldn't your layout objective be affected if you get them all mixed up? Thinking aloud.:)

Thanks Nins, I was just hoping that you could de-limit the "event" definition. This could mean anywhere from parties, fiestas, festivals, funerals and even human executions.:Scared: There is a world of difference from party festive "events", to photojournalism "events", like human accidents, and motorcycle decapitated incidents.

What do you think? :)

oh, man! i never fully realized the impact of not regularly accessing dpp until i saw this photo theme for the next issue. arrgh!

when i read the first post a few minutes ago, boy was i excited because i knew i had several events shots on file that i wanted to submit. but then i saw the deadline, and wow, i really wish i checked the site much (much) earlier.

wish our office hadn't blocked the site...

but still, i'm looking forward to the next issue because of this.:)
