Let's start with an entity name first.

I proposed FotoTarlac and here's the accompanying logo.

Proposed logo and name of future Tarlac Photography Society (For deliberation).

Rationale:

The aperture diaphragm approach of FotoTarlac logo aptly epitomize the need to establish a formal organization of photographers (hobbyist, enthusiast and professionals) in Tarlac province.

A revolutionary color, yellow is selected to represent light and gold color that represents sugarcane and rice which the Tarlac province is widely know for.

Tarlac's closed fist-shape map is placed on the upper thirds (right) of the frame embodies FotoTarlac's vision to bring the best of Tarlac's vivid images of past, present and future.

I will be visiting Dueg Resettlement site in Brgy. Mayapis, San Clemente, Tarlac upon the invitation of the DepED District Supervisor for my Black Pencil Project Balik Sa Eskuwela Program this coming May.

I propose Tarlac group (FotoTarlac) will spearhead on this one. This is also a chance to see the grandeur of Tarlac plains from a high elevation. Dueg is found in the easter side Zambales mountain.

as for shooting landscapes, there's a lot... i like the luisita/SCTEX area, i pass there to SCTEX and i always see so many shots waiting to be taken... i promise to stop and snap a few the next chance i get =)

Game! Myke has my number. Usually, I go home each weekend. Any one got a contact in Tarlac Provincial Hospital? That's the oldest provincial hospital in the country.

ill try to ask our friend doctors if we cud take some photos inside the hospital :) I did not know that TPH is one of the oldest provincial hospitals in the Philippines. :)

Yes, unknown to many, Tarlac Provincial Hospital was the first hospital built with a provincial status. Remember, land-locked Tarlac partake an active role in Spanish, American Revolution and WWII. So a public health system was established only after a civil government was established in 1906 under the Americans.

I wasn't really paying attention to Tarlac historical footnotes not until I was asked to design a logo for Tarlac Conventions and Visitors Bureau.

I am really much of a landscape photographer, 'been shooting San Jose, Mayantoc, Camiling inner routes for a year or two.

No problem Sir, t'was a pleasure meeting you and also your "posse" :D We didnt get to shoot anything but I think it was "fruitful". Hopefully next time, we'd meet other members too and share ideas. :D

It's really a challenge bro, but nothing beats experience, knowing the basics, knowing what your "GEAR" can offer you, and trying to apply them in real world would certainly help. Shoot lang ng shoot. :D

Well, if you learn how to play and use your camera, it IS really addictive. It's where the addiction starts, then you start investing or buying stuff for your gear, thats when the "GAS" starts..(GASTOS) :D:D

Turns out, both lecturers of the workshop are DPP members... Now, we have something going.

Everyone into the hobby can gain something from this. Newbies could have their techniques improved. Hobbyists could share tips and trade good photography spots. Even professionals can go here to network.

As for me, the mere chance to be with those with similar interests is already worth the price of admission.

Sir Ian, may I ask what is the full coverage of the workshop. As I saw in the banner, attendees are of different backgrounds and I presume that this will also be a place to meet contacts especially those into the business.

Funny things happen in different forms… And it happens most of the time in our life as photographers.
One of the circumstances that I find it so funny is that when moments come that you know by your heart that you are very inspired to have a masterpiece - you know, the feeling of eagerness to shoot some creative ideas and at the same time the feeling of anxiousness about losing it? – BUT you don’t exactly really know what to capture… Funny, isn’t it right?
I was on the good side of the bed when I woke up today, and I know I’m inspired to capture some things; however, I don’t have any idea what it could be… So, I just got my gear, cleaned up and went to the kitchen to sip my fave cup of coffee. I suddenly noticed these circles that seem to be inviting. Eureka! Right on that spot, I captured these beautiful formations that seem to be posing for me. I utilized the available light and some led lightings, manipulated the speed and openings. And enjoyed my sweet, tangy, and oily breakfast with Pampanga’s Best Tocino.

sige, i did'nt use tripod there, i used the bridge railings, pinatong ko dun, then i kneel to support the camera, then the big vehicles passed then there the scary feelings begun.. hehehe:D

thanks Romuald. We were there this afternoon. I'll try to post the sched for the week, I took a photo of the tarp in front of the Capitol. :D:D But the Mutya ng Tarlac will be on thursday. :D Its the only thing I remembered. But there are also cultural shows tomorrow I think.

Romuald - I left after Anao's performance (1st contingent) on stage. It was hard shooting below the stage. But we get to shoot on the streets, from Uniwide to the Capitol. If you've seen someone with glasses, black sleeves, blue hat, white shirt, cargo shorts with a lit cigarette running around and asking the pretty muses and girls around the park to pose for a snapshot, that'll be me... :D:Evil: Btw, I saw someone with a Sony DSLR(I think) was that you?

Hi Sir Mon, Dennis spearheaded the Photowalk in Tarlac. about the locations, I'll relay these places, the original/proposed walk route is F.Tanedo-San Sebastian Cathedral-Tarlac Capitol and everything in between.. :D Will you be joining Tarlac Leg then? :Grin:

sir Mon, I have checked these 3 locations but sad to say, only Tarlac Provincial Hospital is left. When Mykie & I had an ocular inspection, Urquico Stadium is already a social hall of TNHS. The PNR train station is has no railroad tracks & it has a basketball court in the middle.

I saw the lahar-silted Tarlac river last weekend, the landscape is inviting. Hahaha.

was born and raised in tarlac-tarlac till grade 2 or three before transferring here in manila. We rented our house near the old PNR station is Matatalaib walking distance from Amado Go's rice warehouse and right beside the Constantino's ancestral house.

The house of my grandmother is in MH del Pilar.

My wife was born in Tarlac, Tarlac but is essentially a Kapampangan, we live in Angeles although she still has family in Tarlac. I see some other posters also from Angeles and other parts of Pampanga, I tried to access the following site but with no luck.

Sir every month we do have a monthly meeting (every 1st Saturday of the month) at Urdu Restaurant. You are welcome to attend so that you will be able to meet the group.
Requirements to join the club will be discussed by our Membership Committee head.
