Pilar Tuason 06-13-2006, 10:29 PM Beautiful photos! Keep em coming!
tj_parpan 06-13-2006, 11:16 PM It's great to have master Romy Ocon on this forum. Definitely The Man when it comes to bird photography.
Since DPP is looking for local content, I think it's time Romy's featured in-depth in a proper local photo magazine.
- birding tips and techniques
- proper exposure
- long lens techniques
- gear selection
- species identification
At least 2 spreads would be needed. :) Definitely an article I'd look forward to...

I most definitely second the motion Tj !!!! Romy is the best Filipino photographer when it comes to bird photography in the Philippines and one of the best in the world IMHO.
My interest in bird photography surfaced when I saw his more than EXCELLENT photos at his pbase website which is http://www.pbase.com/liquidstone . Also became aware of the many beautiful birds we have even in our own backyard/village.
Romy Ocon 06-14-2006, 08:20 AM Thanks for the comments, Rosalie, Levi, Jojo and Pilar.
TJ and Tina, salamat .... very flattered with the kind words (blushing). But really, I'm just a newbie at this thing and need to learn tons of things yet before I deserve the compliment. You should see the bird pics posted at Naturescapes to know what the real master birdshooters can do....:)
Here are three more wild birds in flight:

Raul Marcelo 10-13-2006, 07:26 PM mr. romy: your bird pictures got me fascinated with (..and are starting to make me feel frustrated with my hands-on experience in...) bird photography. anyway, i read again this thread today and saw your note about being a newbie in this and to look at naturescape bird photos being works of masters. i don't see any difference between them and your work: really awesome bird photos. i hope you will find time to schedule a seminar on bird photography.
Romy Ocon 10-13-2006, 07:48 PM Thanks, Raul... let's see if we can set up a bird shooting briefing in the near future...:)
