Rather than having a Shout Thread and people compiling posts through it, we have installed a Shout Box.

We recommend all our members to use this rather than the Threads for chit chat. Please be advised that all DPP rules follow in the Shout Box and most especially

1) Please repsect other members
2) Refrain from insulting others
3) No selling or trading of items allowed

The Shout Box is not meant to replace Threads. Please put all discussions of photography on their respective Threads and use the Shout Box for non-photography related conversation please.

Also one of the bugs seen is that Mac users using Safari will not see their post after clicking the shout button, and have to refresh the page for the shout posted to be seen. So far there is no fix for this yet since the ShoutBox uses AJAX technology that the web browser Safari is not yet compatible with. Firefox and other web browsers have no problems with this.

Well this is going to be a Beta test. Lets see if our members can follow the rules. We are keeping moderation to a minimum here since it will be impossible for us at DPP to police this.

So we request everyone to follow the rules of DPP. If it gets out of control and if we feel that it replaces threads, then we will close this down quickly.

Nino P. suggest we put this under a different heading at the navigation bar. Lets also take it away from the front page.
